Yep, it sure does. Hate it. It's a bit of an uneven road off of our street to get into traffic and if you turn too fast from the stop sign it will just beep, cut throttle, and then you hear the horn of the person you pulled out in front off....super annoying, stupid, and dangerous.

Hmm, not sure why I would need a relay as well. I drove a few blocks with it unplugged but will have to test it out some more to see if ABS still works. Otherwise when I'm pulling a trailer down a mountain pass going 60 I would rather have dash lights than the truck try to brake for me while on a turn and send me into another lane or make my trailer fishtail and send me into the ditch.

of course they are! Damn you toyota gods!

@empty_lord with all your wiring diagrams and knowledge, you should be able to know which wire sends the correct signal to the ABS computer to tell it to turn off the VSC and only that when in 4 wheel drive....right!??!

I’m looking now, but look for beast mode mod, it’s a second gen thing from what I’ve read, but early 07’ action. So I assume you might be able to do the same on yours

I doubt it. Everything changed in 2007 except the name but I'll take a look thanks.

    edit:
Nope. Nothing I see will work. We (2006) tundra's don't have a VSC or traction control on/off button.

it looks like the 4WD signal is sent with a data bus of sorts.. dont think theres an easy way to turn it all off.

if it really bugged you you might be able to un pin the pins for VSC trac and ABS... but thats not guaranteed to rid the lights

best bet i could say is you could Try and setup a switch on the CSW for the computer.. looks like auto lsd is tied to it on the 06... but im not sure what it'll do..

CSW on any other toyota typically is what turns off trac

    Hmm. And what’s the CSW?

really I could live with the lights as long as ABS still works. And would only pull that plug or setup a toggle switch for when I’m towing a travel trailer or on a road trip.

Csw is what Toyota calls it. I think pin 43. I’m guessing csw means control switch.

pin 43 on the big connector for the ABS/Trac module

i wouldnt mess with it honestly. if it is expecting a can line comunication and you feed it voltage or ground that it shouldnt have, it might get expensive

I know it won't affect you, but it's worth sharing. I installed the EZ oil drain valve on my tundra back in 2017. It drains pretty fast and hasn't leaked a drip for me or the Hyundai I put one on at the same time. I'd recommend that one over the Fumoto one specifically for the faster drainage.

Excellent form! Only thing we could work on is propping the product a little better and getting some more full spectrum lighting. Outside of those amateur hour mistakes I think you did well!

just toying with your challenge following a night of no sleep, so take it for what it's worth. That said...
You could get those two ends of the plug you show unplugged. Run enough wire as a 'jumper' which goes from one end of the plug up into the cab to a switch on the dash, & back out to the other end of the plug. Simple on/off switch.
That would let you 'unplug' it when you need to be a brute & plug it back in when the lights annoy you.
I think I'd use a switch that resets to on with each engine start. Are those called a "momentary switch" - I don't recall ATM.

Now if you want to get fancy...
lights are either on or off, so their circuit is either open or closed. Feeding them or breaking their circuit is simple, wiring on a board not.
Really fancy would be using the O/D on/off switch as your kill switch for the circuit - if you want this locally or when towing I think that would make sense (although I think I'm sleep addled missing something in that idea).

Is there an on/off switch system you could steal from a junkyard donor? Or at least a schematic & part #'s from a first gen application?

It's actually not that common. I'm willing to bet that I've done more shopping for DC Tundras than 99.99% of the population. It took me two years to find my 2005 and about a year to find my 2006 and I'd say less than 25% of the 2005-2006 DCs I ever came across had it. What's funny is it's not listed in the brochure at all under Features (Standard/Optional/Part of Package) but if you go down to the packages, that's were you start to see it listed as

    "Vehicle Stability Control (VD)"

It is listed as a part of a 1 or more possible packages for RCs, ACs and DCs. Being old enough to remember when they called STIs VD (and it was STD in between that), I'm glad I avoided VD again...

Time consuming, but not hard. Unfortunately the kit I got from rockauto.com didn’t have a gasket for the water pump intake so I’ve have to pop off the thermostat housing twice to redo the liquid gasket (never used the stuff before). So hopefully I don’t have to do it a third time!

That's the wiring for my bed lights, on-board air, and backup cam. I need to put a trusty zip tie to hold it up, but I haven't yet. Lol
