Hey there, thank you! Thanks for the job you do as well!! How do you like the Cath lab?

I am also an RN, but just couldn't find my niche, thus I went back to the truck full time, and ironically I have been a paramedic long enough that my 48 hours a week equates to almost the same as working 36 as a nurse (and it's way more fun!) ! Plus I have it made, I work two 24 hours shifts a week on a 911 only truck covering 6 towns. I still enjoy dx STEMIs in the field and waking you guys up :)

Are you guys still taking acute STEMIs to the Cath lab, or are you doing like they are in my area and trying TPA first to avoid possibly contaminating the lab with COVID-19?

I absolutely love working in the Cath Lab. I’m in Alabama. I love the hours 3x12s, and still get the same ‘acute care’ excitement that I got on the truck without all the ‘outside dangers’. Our lab still does acute stemi’s and NSTEMI. We slowed down slightly on elective procedures but as one of the cardiologist said ‘I have a Ferrari payment to make.’ Stay safe out there!!!

LOL, funny cardiologist! Yea, I honestly don't get the paranoia here about bringing COVID-19 into the Cath lab, especially when the patient's has zero symptoms. Just mask the patient, and then have housekeeping do a terminal clean afterwards, as they are not doing any elective Cath lab procedures around here so there would be no real rush to finish cleaning it, its ridiculous honestly! Letting people potentially die because they bleed after receiving TPA because we don't want to clean a room, vs doing what is right for the patient. Very frustrating. Glad to see you guys are doing right by the patients.

    You stay safe as well!!
