I've never owned a Taco but the ones I've driven at work are way too small for me - and I'm not a big guy by any stretch. I'm pretty sure my wife's 2013 Corolla has more space inside than a new Tacoma. I also hate feeling like I'm sitting on the floor.

You can't get a manual transmission in a DCLB any more so the only advantage of the Tacoma is gone, in my opinion. Also, folks have reported similar fuel economy to the Tundra and downright dangerous performance from the engine and transmission in the new gen.

I have had all of them too and 4Runners and Cruisers and I still wonder just how I talked myself into cramming inside the Taco or 4Runner?

It depends on your needs, I had a 2011 tacoma although I loved it’s size for trails I love my tundra more. Tundra has more room, I love the V8 power. If you’re not towing everyday keep the taco, tundra will tow better but be ready for poor gas mileage. Tundra can go places a taco can but you’d have to modify it for shitty approach and departure angles and bigger tires for more ground clearance although stock the tundra has more ground clearance. Ultimately it’s what you’re willing to sacrifice and pay.

from threads over there that I’ve seen.
It’s a lot of tundra bashing. It surprised me seeing how we’re all in the same Toyota family. Tundras don’t get the love over there

I traded in a 2018 DCSB TRDOR Taco for a 2019 Pro Tundra last year. As others have said, the Tundra has much more interior room and power. In my case, I lost about 2 mpg with the Tundra, but the extra power and room more than make up for it. The only real advantage the Taco has is it’s smaller size on tough technical trails.

Supposedly you can add Katzkin leather seats for pretty cheap if that's the only thing pushing you to a Limited.

The only time I know of anyone regretting the move from a Taco to a Tundra is when things get narrow or tight. I no longer take some trails due to overhead or width clearance. She is a fat pig but I love her.

If you have to have a new truck, there's one other Tundra that is available with no chrome. The SR5 with the SX package. Really nice looking, but it's a somewhat basic truck that's biggest problem is that it isn't available with the 38 gallon tank.

You could get that Limited and de-chrome it for not too much, but why not look at a lightly used '19 Pro? Lots of those available on Autotrader right now for under 45.

Alright, who's going to be that one guy? If the Taco had a 7 or 8 foot bed option I might have one instead of the Tundra.

If the wife and I didn't want kids or a travel trailer, I might have a 6 speed ACLB Tacoma.

I drove a first gen tundra for 20 years. I was really happy with that size and thought that the current Tundras were too big. I thought I could be happy in a new Tacoma. After driving both, I realized that the Tundra was much more refined on the highway, and the huge rear seat of the CrewMax is perfect for my kids.
