One of the things that I like most about the 5.7 is being able to slow down my truck by down shifting. Try down shifting a small displacement Turbo motor and see how ineffective it is.

I haven't seen anything definitive come down the pipe. Same articles citing "sources with inside knowledge" are all I've seen

NO plans to buys. My old 2007 5.7 Crewmax just clicked 50k miles and still acts like a brand new one!

I know a handful of people personally who have had several issues with their eco boost f150’s from early models to the most recent. A friend of mine said he just got his back again after the forth time in for warranty work. Less than 40,000 miles and $10,000 worth of repairs. You can have those TT’s. I’m going 5 years of two different tundras with no problems except keeping my foot out of the throttle and grinning ear to ear. ;)

Well afterall it is made.by Ford so of course there will be some trucks that have issues. Also ford makes what? 900,000 to a million 150's a year. Toyota has the capacity to make about 300,000 tundras. So there is that, there are going to be some bad apples. I still think overall the ecoboost is reliable. So I believe the Toyota TT will be even more so. I will keep my V8

There's the old saying, 'There's no replacement for displacement.' I do love the V8 as it's just more raw and I like that driving experience. I really like the low end torque, smooth, and instant power delivery.

However, it's the end of an era so everyone's chasing MPG and power ratings because of EPA. That's just where the regulators want the industry to go. I don't think anyone have a choice.

With that said I am very excited to see what Toyota can come up with for the Tundra. It's been almost 30 years since they have a serious TT V6 engine.
