How do you like your GD? I've never had a camper before but also like their floor plans and quality looks pretty good.

We haven't been able to use it since the one trip last fall. It's had a few small issues that the dealer resolved under warranty. GD customer service has been really responsive.

Our state parks are open but we are hesitant to go camping, although we could probably isolate there as well as we do at home. We need to bring it home and de-winterize and give it a good cleaning.

I will also say that we are constantly buying stuff for the RV, lol. The list can be endless.

What kind of stuff have you been buying? I'm curious about the costs involved. And did you look at any other brands? I've got a forest river nobo on my shortlist. But the gd does look better quality

Our neighbors have a GD and claim they wouldn't buy anything else. I guess GD has a group/club for owners you can join for support/tips/etc. (kinda like tundras.com lol). They've had theirs for a year and a half or so, and several stays out of state for over a week at a time.

They've been trying really hard to talk us into one since we brought the Tundra home.

On edit; Neighbors say the first thing anyone should do regardless of what brand RV one buys is to trash the mattresses that come with it and buy new one(s). There is a site recommended by GD users of a mattress to buy (I can't remember what it is) and they swear it's the best money they spent on the RV.

Like @Jernik said, first purchase is a topper or new mattress and other bedding items. Some other things offhand...

    Furion rear camera
Tire pressure and temp monitor system
    Predator 3500 invertor generator
    Camp Chef outdoor stove
    Outdoor tables, chairs, rug, etc.
Trailer leveling and hitch security (locks) items.
Tire inflator (Kobalt) and other tools.

There are tons of other smaller things.

We looked hard at the Winnebago Micro Minnie's.
    Lots of others.

This may be the winner for my needs. What kind of deal did you get on it? Only thing I can see that is negative for me is interior height as I am 1 inch taller than.

I want something for backcountry boondock with ability for hookup as well

Sorry for the late response. I got a really good deal on it. As far as the interior height you’ll want to go with the side air conditioner as the roof ac hangs down quite a bit. I’m actually selling it because I just bought my buddy’s toyhauler. Pm me if you’re interested.

More room, larger bathroom and dedicated bed are the big reasons. I thought we could live with converting the table into a bed each night, but I'm glad we didn't go that route. The bunks are smaller in the MW, but the kids seem fine with it.

Do you have any interior pics? How was it price wise compared to the R Pod?

I don't have any interior pics; you'll have to check online. It's a few years old and the colors change annually. My model is a bunkhouse, so not sure that floor plan is what you'd be looking for either.

Price was pretty close, with the MW maybe 5-10% more? I do wish we had the outdoor cooking garage like the Rpod. We do 1-2 week trips during the summer and being able to cook outside frees up a lot of butt space inside and keeps the smells outside.

2” level, roof mount DVD, interior LED bulbs, sumosprings out back, OEM folding cover, Blackout emblems
2010 Sportman Classic 19ft, queen bed up front and doubly bunk’s for the kids in the rear.

1/2 tank of water, kids quad and firewood definitely cause some squatting

Finally got the truck to do some work!

2019 Forest River Surveyor Legend 240BHLE. Paid about 66% MRSP, pretty satisified. 5099 lbs dry, easy pull near as I can tell. First tow was from the dealer in Maine, 2 hour drive. My around the town MPG went from 13.? to 9.?

Not much highway, mostly state routes.

    Maiden voyage this weekend?

2017 venture sonic. Camped 3 years with it. Great little camper with above average quality. Thinking about trading up to a little bigger grand design model . Only reason we are even considering it is because my wife has a bad back and the bed in ours is a Murphy bed so our options are limited on a quality mattress. Other then that we love it . Can pull it anywhere and tuck it in a lot of wooded sites we like.

Went well, IMO. Yes, I have a WD hitch, rated for 8k. I have a 3/2 lift and it didn't seem to squat at all. Needless to say, the trailer was dry.

Ol’ Bessey sunline. Shes a little older but awesome camper for my husband and I.. flying trips every year and neither the camper nor my husband’s 300k+ mile Tundra have skipped a beat. Taking the reigns this year though and I just got an ‘18 TRD OR and we’re looking at a few new-used campers replace it with..
Tessa, the flight park cat down in FL, likes to sleep on our stoop every year when we visit. Im not a cat person but shes actually a really cool kitty.
