Hole in the Headliner

I just bought a use 2019 TRD Pro and after getting it home, I was putting my kid in the car seat and saw this. Anyone have any idea what new headliner would cost? Any good ideas for a replacement that may be cool?

 

That's kind of annoying. i don't think headliner is cheap and the replacement is more likely to sag over time. I would just leave it as is. How offend do you look up? I never do....

 

Put a cool patch over it

 

What about a beige or grey plastic push pin/tree? It looks like it's in the center . Probably cost about $1.00.

Damn, I was hoping that wasn’t the case. Though I really don’t like the idea of just plugging it up.

 

Lol watching all these car shows on TV where they rebuild cars, and they get full interiors done for like 3500 bucks. I was hoping to be under 500 bucks to get this done.

 

Get a larger dome light?

Look up aftermarket sunroof installers in your area. They work with repairing them, Not sure what “repair” means, probably recover would be more accurate. Much cheaper than replacing. We occasionally send them out when airbags ding them up or blood or drinks go flying in a collision.

 

Take it back in and ask for replacement... hopefully they’ll oblige.

 

I doubt it on a used truck. And the dealer was 5 hours away. I guess this is one of the reasons that this was the least expensive PRO within 1000 miles of my house. No other blemish or irregularities I can find.

 

Bummer. Would definitely bug the crap out of me. Congrats on the 2019 though.

 

Thanks, My heart sank when I saw it. I am definitely going to get it fixed. Even if it does cost me 1000 bucks. Just hoping for a less expensive option.

Too bad it’s there. It think a lot of us would be driven crazy by it. There are some threads on here where guys pulled and reinstalled their headliners. This is a friendly crowd. Hunt around and I’ll bet they’ll share any tips. I wish you the best of luck finding the least painful solution.

 

if you have time and patience, there’s definitely DIYs that’ll be much cheaper option

 

I literally just had my headliner quoted from 3 different places this week after Safelite damaged it. The part is $1400-$1500.

 

Just let it go for few weeks and eventually, you will almost forget about it. It's just the truck is very new to you. I feel your pain tho.

 

I dunno man. If I had done it, I may be able to get over it but to know that it was done and I didn’t catch it is driving me crazy.

I'm pretty anal when it comes to my truck, and i completely understand your frustration. But i would never spend 1k+ along with all the time and frustration of installing a new one...How about this? Add this little do-dad which i believe is for voice recognition (correct me if I'm wrong). Center it with the dome light, call it a day, and no one will ever question why its there. Just my 2cents.
