Originally it was only in Tow Mode + S Mode. With the 2.0 Revision late last year it activates using S Mode regardless of normal or Tow/Haul..

Ya, mine isn't there yet. I have to do the T/H and S-Mode dance.

I sent you some data logs over two weeks ago. Can you update me on the status of my tune revision? Will I be receiving the latest features you mentioned like "direct shift" or whatever? I also emailed your support desk.

    Thanks Mat!

Mine works as Gear Lock, but the converter doesn't stay locked. I can't recall if it will actually downshift if I go WOT. I don't know why I don't think to check this when I'm out for a drive, I guess that maybe I'm just enjoying the drive too much.

If you go to the very right/top of the web page and click where it says "You", then "Personal Details", there's a field called "Vehicle Modifications" where you can add a whole bunch of shit that expands when people hover on it. I don't know if it works on mobile or not. You could put a whole review of the Star Wars Universe in there, or just the info you want Mat to see, but then he'd have to know to look there.

Under your profile you could also put Trucky McTruckface....o_O

Does anyone know of a list of the options that you must ask for to get? Not interested in digging through 3375 posts to try and figure it out but figured I am missing something if everyone else has asked for what they want

Tony, I think it's just what octane you want, gearlock or no gearlock and making sure to tell him of any modifications you've done; tire size, exhaust, gears, etc. Other than that, he will add everything that is ready for your ECU.

Did I leave anything out, guys?

I suspect that some options will be selectable via the vF software. Some will be gratis, other more involved things may require a nominal fee. That's kinda why I'm thinking much of the Tundra side of things are on hold. If Mat were to continue to do things as he has up till recently, the turnaround on updates/revisions would be pretty glacial. With vF each ECU would have a tune and the end user could add available options (Gear Lock, etc.)/tunes (for higher octanes). Those who'd like to get more involved and tinker some, or those with actual skills or more precise requirements (like @ViktorG) would upgrade for that access. I think that for another nominal upgrade OV can/will lend their more personalized services.

I do not speak on behalf of OVTune, nor do I represent this speculation as accurate to any decimal place (not even in terms of spelling/grammar).

    confirmed, have your logs.

also have logs and emails from all you guys, and am working on things as I can.
I would really like to get remaining Tundra stuff done throughout May, and am trying. I understand we are way, way behind on our original projections

This is why I couldn't do this. We're all waiting. Nagging or asking 15 times isn't going to make it much faster, in fact it might be slower as he has to reply to us. It'll show up when it shows up. Stop asking.

Just my two cents, and that's all it's worth.

I have mixed feelings on this one. Yes, we don't need to harass Mat. But, the man was told he would have an update, but couldn't have that update because of a hard drive problem and would get it as soon as it was recovered.

So you won't get a response from zendesk because it's full of 500-600 emails at a time, there is no phone number and this is the only place you may get a response. It's a frustrating process and hard to be patient while knowing he communicates daily with the Tacoma forum. And let me tell you, those guys ask and ask and ask some more! Lol

So, yeah... I don't really know if "stop asking" is the right answer after dropping 600 dollars on this jewel.

However... definitely be patient. Some of us have been patient for a year now! The good news is, his Tacoma tune is almost complete. So I'm hopeful that we will get a completed tune as well!

Maybe it would be easier if Mat came on here and told us all to fvck off until he is finished with the nuts on Tacoma world. (excluding @shellshock ) ha

All that said, I believe in his company. And definitely want to see him successful. Even without my tow button, my truck runs way better than Toyota could have programmed it to.

My opinion is also only worth 2 cents! :goingcrazy:

I'd then wager that it isn't recovered, or that COVID has a play in this, but I don't want to speak for Mat, rather just that it becomes old to see someone ask over and over and over, when we saw how Mat told the other guy to send his hardware back. We need to decide how many times one should ask before it becomes "harrassing."

I also believe in this tune, my truck runs great compared to stock. The Sequoia wasn't/isn't a supported truck, so that Mat is willing to take the leap to get him a product (after having to purchase an ECU I believe), speaks volumes to the man. Having someone come onto the forum and see the same questions about timelines, when we know this was a beta tune because we've been here a little bit, looks to make his product and brand look poor. We KNOW this is a BETA tune! We know the man is overworked, and we know that the Sequoia wasn't part of the package (again because we've been on this thread for a while), but NEWBs that come here because we "sing the praises" of his tune will only see a select few coming to complain about lack of updates or making snarky comments, because they lack patience (or are getting frustrated).

Think about that, 500-600 emails, including the Tacoma guys are asking every day for stuff. I get overwhelmed with 20 emails a day, so I can only imagine having to open up 100 and complete tasks for each of them. Some of them might be minor adjustments, some might be complete revisions.

Maybe it's the 20 years that I have in the military that has taught me that continuing to ask about timelines, doesn't accomplish anything. Maybe Mat will get fed up and tell him to ship him back his unit, and then he won't have any tuning (unless HP Tuners can do it, I'm not sure). It's best to stop asking, and be patient. If he didn't want to spend $600, he shouldn't have gone with a beta tune. Maybe Mat should've told him no, I dunno. I just don't see the benefit to asking repetitively.

I coming up to a year now as well (but I believe I had my device for two months while I was TDY to Costa Rica and didn't ask for my tune until after I got back in July or so). My 2018 runs much better than it did stock, and I'm thrilled about that. I've asked for updates to Zen Desk, but try to stay away because he's inundated with stuff on his plate. People sing praises to his tune, because it's worth it. For those of us with the 2018, he was the only one at the time (as DAP still doesn't tune them AFAIK), and I for one am happy with my current tune. I do want updates, but it is what it is.

Maybe I'm just tired of all the damn complaining, or just frustrated myself. All I know is that bitching an moaning about getting updates doesn't seem to be working, and I don't want him to get so frustrated that we are all left where we currently sit.

There's my two more cents, lol.

Cuban Good points! You have good reason and a lot of patience!

Here is a little history to those who are not following as closely. I DID email and ask Mat BEFORE I purchased this tune if my Sequioa was supported. Mat responded quickly that it was no problem go ahead and purchase the tune. That was September of 2019. I received a base tune with no working features in December and nothing since. To say I have a "tune" is not really accurate as it has no purpose or use, in fact is unusable/unsafe/non drivable in 4x4 or with traction control off. Others have the same issues this is not unique to my base tune. I have asked Mat many times via email and this forum what my tune was supposed to have or how it was supposed to work and have 0 response to date. I have long given up asking and just am waiting for an update. Most emails from mat since 2 weeks after registration are "this friday", "this friday" or "this friday" or "this friday". Or "we are working on it as quickly as we can". The only unique thing about my case is mat did not have ECU info. I dont find that very unique as many other tundras are / were in the same boat. I was open to sending mine in but Mat/Myself were able to find an affordable ebay unit to get the info from.

A Month ago mat had a Hard drive failure. Myself and another guy had their file on that Hard drive. Mat had to recover that Hard drive to get us our tune revision. Mat said that would happen next night, The other guy DID get his revision that next night, I didn't, and mat promised it then next Friday, When friday came, Mat said Sunday. No response since its been about a month. I got nothing and have no response since.

I've held my tongue in this crap, but enough is enough. I am damned tired of getting emails saying there are new posts in this thread, only to find it's just more bitching from someone who's been active on this TUNDRA forum for less than a year with a vehicle other than a Tundra. One who has MANY orders ahead of him on this BETA tune, one who has ALREADY been given special treatment, one who has been told NUMEROUS times by Mat that he HAS our emails, and is diligently working on it, even in the face of some setbacks. Yet that one late-comer still persists in his bitching. Entitled much?!? Reminds me of the 6 year old in the back seat who asks, "Are we there yet?" every 10 minutes.

I'm an old man. I have a lot of patience......except for when it comes to whiners.

Maybe that covid stress is getting to you!!! Ha

I don't know man, I'm the kind of guy they if someone tells me they are going to do something, I expect that they do it. Maybe it's just the outdated way I was raised from an outdated time.

I'll tell you one thing. in the last 20 years of careers in banking, finance and (oddly enough) the railroad, there is one thing I've learned for sure. The squeaky wheel gets the grease...

(I bet in the military a squeaky wheel gets a smack down... Ha, I don't know since I didn't serve in that capacity)

Anyway, I don't disagree with you, but I do try and look at something from different angles. I certainly would have never dreamed it would be this long for our truck to be completed. And in the beginning, there was never a time when Mat used the word beta. All I knew is that the tune would be released as soon as the Dyno was finished. I am definitely not a complainer, but rather a problem solver. That's why I took my truck and spent my money on getting this tune, daps tune and the stock tune tested.

Yeah, Mat is definitely overwhelmed and I can appreciate that. And.... I have done way to much thinking first thing in the morning on my day off!

Yikes, Mike! Get off my lawn!

Speaking of which, it's time for me to go out and spend the 4 hours it takes to mow my property!
