Tacoma owner looking at Tundra

Hey guys give me all the input you got on this deal. Liking to trade my Tacoma for it.

Here is my Tacoma

 

I traded my 2011 Tacoma for a 2014 Tundra a few days before Christmas. The main reason why I did is hauling stuff. Having a bigger truck that will haul anything i want with almost the same mpg is another big thing. My Tundra has around 540 miles on it and I do not regret anything. I owed 12k on my Tacoma and traded it in getting 29k out of it. I did get a really good deal. Depends on what you do with your truck would depend if I traded or not. Just every day driving, hitting trails, or hunting stay with the Tacoma.

 

I traded my 2009 reg cab 4x4 tacoma for my 2014 tundra and really like the tundra, i could have kept the tacoma for ever but with a newborn baby my wife and i wanted a bigger truck. Funny thing was they gave me 11500 for the taco and put it on their lot for 16000

 

Nice so I should have good luck trading off the Tacoma. I owe in it still but I owe what I should get for trade. Here is a picture of the tundra.

 

That is a cool looking Tacoma you have, I traded as well and really enjoy the Tundra, give it a few test drives and make sure that it is what you would like to go with.

 

Yeah I paid 19500 for my Tacoma back in April. It was just appraised by the insurance company for 19500 and I have put 25000 miles on it. So it should be interesting to see what I could get out of it. Hoping for 16 or so.

 

I got $20k for my 09 Tacoma access can 4wd sport when I traded it in May. Just wanted more space. Tundra has been good so far. Looked at F150s as well but got a better deal on the Tundra.

 

You may only regret the decision at the gas pump in my opinion. That's how I feel about the switch. I traded my 05 Tacoma TRD Sport DCSB 6spd for a 14'tundra crewmax trd. I'm happy with the move I made, because I don't put many miles on the truck. I did it because I wanted more room and I plan to buy a big trailer in the next few years. Also so the wife can drive it bc its an automatic. I would definitely test drive it. If you park in parking garages and tight places a lot, it could be more annoying than parking the Tacoma. I went through a drive thru atm the other day and was shocked at how little room I had on each side.

I loved my Tacoma and I wish I had the money to keep it...

The Tundra definitely feels like the complete package. It's big, it's powerful, and I really like the interior, especially the rear A/C/heat vents for the rear seats, power sliding rear window. I could go on..

I traded my 06 Tacoma access cab for a 011 Tundra crewmax, cause I needed more room for my twin grandsons car seats, I love the roominess, the ride, and the boys love it too, they call it grandpas monster truck. It may cost me $15 or $20 more a week to drive but I dont care I wouldnt go back to the Taco now, it spoiled me!

I sort of bypassed Taco altogether. I was originally shopping for a Taco when I, just for the heck of it, test drove a Tundra. It blew my socks off and the rest is history. I don't really need a Tundra (for that matter, any truck), but I love this beast.

 

Hhahahahha, isn't that the truth! I have found that with a few projects I've wanted to handle around the house, particularly this past weekend, having the truck made life much easier transporting raw materials. Also, last night I went out to night club that didn't have parking in the paved lot. What did I do? Pfffftttt, put the truck up a curb and parked on the dirt hill....WINNING!

Went from DCLB Tacoma to CM tundra. With a wife, 2 dogs, and a baby on the way I needed the space! Mileage is about the same and I appreciate the extra power when hauling 3000+ lbs loads of rock for work. Plus, the wife is afraid to drive it unless it's highway time.

I have a sunroof, heated seats, and the back window rolls down so I can get my Zoolander on when the weather is nice.

I don't miss the Tacoma at all and wish I would have just gotten a tundra to begin with for financial reasons. I do kind of admire taco owners when I see them now because they can make do with such a little truck!

 

2011 AC Taco traded in on my current 2013 DC Tundy--ZERO REGRETS. I loved the Tacoma, but I honestly wish I'd skipped it altogether and gone straight to Tundra to begin with. At the time I bought the Taco, I was coming from a Jeep and thought the Tundra was just too big. I do miss the off-road maneuverability, but I'm more than happy to trade that for the space, ride comfort and towing/hauling ability I have now.

Whats up Fellas. Just sold my 2008 4x4 Toyota Tacoma Sport and I am buying my Bros.-in-laws 2007 Tundra Crewmax 4.7L that only has 56K miles on it. Was just curious what everyone thinks about the truck

 

Welcome! I traded my 09 Tacoma a year ago for a 07 Tundra DC. Had 3/1 lift, awesome rim/tires. In excellent condition. I turned over 59K miles today. I thought I had low miles. (still do actually). You did good. Very good. You have a LOT of miles left. Just need some pics now.

 

Thanks for the reply. I don't take ownership of the truck till this weekend but its a white SR5 07 crewmax with zero mods. I pulled my amps and subwoofer out of the tacoma and will be putting those in the tundra most likely. Besides that I don't know if I will mod too much.

 

Hauls ass the way it is. Just keep maintained and it should last. There are some very low cost mods on this site. Some no cost. See mod section for ideas.

Has anyone tried to beef up the 4.7L that's been here and had some success?

 

yea bro in law said the 4.7L isn't really that efficient on fuel since the engine is small compared to the size of the truck. Kinda exactly how I felt about my Tacoma. 4.0L for the size of the truck seemed like it had to work too hard and MPG was terrible. On that note however test drove the 2015 5.7L Tundra this weekend with the bro in law and that truck felt sluggish compared to the F150 3.5L ecoboost which are the two trucks he is comparing. Ford is winning in the MPG and power dept however still waiting to see their big D which is Dependability!
