I don’t wash to my own standards very often. Looks great! And yeah, Hydro2 is badass.

 

This may or may not help since it's from a 2003 FSM but many/most basic items in a 2003 FSM pertain to 2000-2003 Tundras.

I’ve got a BD dome light with the built in switch, in the back of the 4runner, it’s super bright!

 

Yea I plan on having a switched one like that then one at the front of the truck wired to the cargo light. Just so I can check on the contents of the bed from inside the truck at night

He identifies as Blue heeler last time I checked.

 

He’s a bute, super awesome dogs. We grew up with a bad Blue, her dad looked like Schwarzenegger. And then my mom now has two rescue reds; they are kinda turds but still good dogs

 

They are very good dogs. My first heeler was a stray. I live far enough out in the boonies that people from town will drop off dogs out here. I skipped school a long time ago because a puppy had found me! I was probably 10? I fed him, petted him, gave him a blanket. He couldn't have been more than a few months old. This was February-ish/March-ish so odds are he was a Christmas gift.

Mom, and pop got home and I was sitting on the back porch playing with this dog who had found me. I told them "Uh we need to keep this dog because I've already bonded with him, and he's mine now."

After a "discussion" we had he was all mine.
His name was Calico due to his spotty coloration. We all called him buddy because he would walk up to anyone and "smile" with them pearly whites, and ask to shake.

Pretty sure my neighbors poisoned him because he used to chase their cattle.

He just wasn't acting right one day. We all went inside for dinner, and he had crawled under the porch and died. Pops, and I looked him over head to toe for injuries, snake bites, etc. We found no puncture wounds. He was only 5, and had many years of life left.

That dog went through hell. Kicked by cows, run over, you name it. Each time we would take him to the vet, and they would examine him. At most he had a sprained ankle, and would be sent home with a clean bill of health after xrays, and testing.

Tough, tough dogs.

 

It looks freaking beautiful out there. I'm jealous for sure.

 

Finally got the after for the new Deaver pack I installed. I gained about 1 inch in the rear.

I also noticed a pretty nasty gouge in my sidewall, but it's still holding air.

I finally got that bug guard in right as I was getting used to the waxed eyebrow look.

I also ordered myself a set of Firestone ride-rites and those Daystar cradles. I'll be sure to get some pics when I do that one of these years.

 

It is very pretty out here. We have a small plot of 8.6 acres. Right up the new "tornado alley" lol

 

Fellas, today after the cookout, and dinner I was tinkering with this ole dump truck horn I found. Made some adjustments to the rusty diaphragm, and got her going again. The thing is super loud. I can record a video, and post it on YouTube, and copy a link if anyone is curious. I would have never dreamed of having a loud horn like this, and probably would have never bought one because you never know what you're getting. Lots of false advertising on horns out there. Now that I found one that works pretty decently now, I might just mount it up... somewhere silver sky like. Heres a picture of the "crusty" guts without the cover on it. This is before I cleaned it all up.

Upon thinking about this, it may have come from the mines my grandpa used to work at. Who knows how old this thing is.

I was using my cheap $15 Weller soldering iron on some terminals inside, and kept getting frustrated. I cleaned my tip, and applied flux. My little unit only had enough "oomph" to turn the solder to a paste. Kinda lame.

What do you fellas who solder use?

I've been eyeballing the milwaukee soldering iron, but if I'm gonna upgrade I may as well go full monty with this too.

 

I don't do a ton of soldering but a station makes it much easier. I have access to a very nice setup at work but I'd never spend the $2k+ on one for home.

What are all those tall things with green all over them? Are those what people call......trees? Me and @MrDirtjumper have those. But they're short and called mesquite.

With Cold Weather spec, you got the heavy duty wiper motor too:

 

We have the same truck and also in the process of getting a bug deflector from Weathertech. My question is how does it mount to the truck? They said on their website that they use 3M tape. Does the Tape hold? Is there any other fastener that they used to hold these deflector without drilling the Tundra? I don't want to drill any holes in my truck. Kindly advice. I'm ready to order it today if you can see my post kindly reply. Thank you sir.

 

Those tall things here are roughly (eyeballing) at least 50 inches around, and probably 150-200 feet tall. Most here are roughly 130 years old if i had to guess. Maybe older.

Red oak is excellent fuel here. Burns down to a nice hot coal bed. Excellent wood. My view of the front porch. Idyllic. (Note the two peach trees in view on the middle, and right side of the picture in the foreground. The squirrels get most of the fruit though. Everythung has to live somewhere, and eat something. Even squirrels.)

Interesting, maybe I can track down my drivers side rattle that happens when my wipers move. Not that big of a deal, but any noise reduction is a good thing.


Also, my gas tank straps came in today along with my replacement bump stop, and an "actuator" nozzle for moms sequioa for the "headlight washers." That seems to me like a tricky install. Anyone here have experience with that? 08' sequioa.

 

What website is this Toyota parts diagram from? Looks like a pretty useful, easy to use layout.

 

I agree. I wish you could click each part in the diagram on Cool springs website, but that might be because I typically browse from my phone.

Horn project is coming along. The blue terminal is something I just kinda soldered onto the metal. The screw for the high note horn (blue) broke off, and I made do because this thing is cool. Upgraded my soldering iron to the next step up from what I had (20w, 750°f?) To the 40w, 900°f. It was $40 dollars less than milwuakee and had more wattage, temp.

Fishing is on the agenda for tonight.
