Climate control doesn’t retain memory after shut off

If I turn my heat or Ac set to high and turn the vehicle off, the next day when I start the truck, everything is off. I have a remote start on the vehicle and it’d be helpful to be able to set for heat and defrost before getting out so that they turn on when I remote start in the morning. Any ideas on how to fix this?

 

Nothing to fix. That's how it was designed.

It should resume to the last known setting.

I see it’s a limited.. so you have auto climate control.

If it isn’t or doesn’t turn on there is most likely a problem with one of the servos or a problem with the climate control ecu.

 

My Limited retains its set points.

mine retains the setting, heated seats included with my remote start.

 

Op here. Yes. Working properly, the climate control should retain settings. What I found was that there was a physical wire caught in the gears by the drivers right shin. The gears control the doors of the climate system and that wire jacked it all up.
I took it apart but for the life of me can’t get the whole thing synced again. Need to take it apart and give it another go.

 

Does you defrost and/or A/C retain?

 

I had this issue on my 10 limited. After countless hours searching and working with a Toyota master mechanic who became very involved because he was determined to find a solution.

The end result was the climate control ecu had malfunctioned causing the servos to move at incorrect times and bind.

The unit extremely expensive and basically the whole dash had to be removed to access getting it out, so I passed on fixing it.

My 2010 Tundra Crewmax Limited has retained it's climate settings for 10 years
I killed my battery last week leaving the bed light on
Since restarting the truck using a battery charger I have to manually turn the climate system on each time I turn the ignition off

So you've been manually controlling your temp after every restart?

 

I did for about six more months then sold the truck.

 

That's one way to solve the problem

I was already looking at upgrading to a 3rd gen.

 

Need some advice
As mentioned in previous posts, climate control not holding settings in memory
Now both heater and AC working at the same time
Dash vents blow cold (cool) air
Center console vents blow hot air
Taking off on a road trip into the heat in 2 days
Any advice on how to deactivate the heater at least temporarily?
