FJ Cruiser questions and or issues ask here

I hope the staff members won't delete this thread. So I tried joining the FJ cruiser forum but not much help there. Community here is much better and more active. I just purchased one week ago my first FJ and will have many questions. As I first did with my Tundra. I still kept the Tundra but got rid of the Avalon. So if any FJ cruiser owners have questions or issues please post here. And thank you for any help that comes here.

 

What are the best skids for the money.

 

what is the best exhaust for the FJ with out drone. Or does the FJ even sound good with an exhaust?

 

Interested in an FJ also for the wife. What year did you get and why?

 

I purchased the 2014. I had been looking at the FJ as well as the 4runner. I like the FJ more because they are rare. The 4runner everyone has them. Fj value is held up pretty high so when I found this one and seen how clean it was I had to jump on it immediately.

I'd say it depends on how you'll need to use the skids, if at all. If you won't be doing some hard trails with lots of rocks and that, then your underside probably won't get as trashed, so you won't need the best skids you can get.

I really like RCI and the products they offer. I'd check them out if you need some solid skids and plan to need that level of protection.

 

I have stock trd exhaust on mine. It’s not bad but I have no experience with anything else. No fj buddies and I am with you I dislike the fj forums

 

Instagram search’s seem to have good results when it comes to Fj’s but it takes some digging.

 

Did you add the exhaust or was to stock?

 

It was a factory upgrade. The truck is 2007 the did not offer a trd at that time just exhaust

 

So you did not add it.....I was gonna ask if you prefer with or without

 

So for the rear and front diff is 75-90 OK to use even if you have the REAR LOCKER?

 

I added it to my 2010 and it is great. Added the trd intake as well and gained 3/4 of a mpg and increased power and less downshifting with the 285’s

I don’t know anything about their Fj exhaust but that’s a good outfit.

 

I had a 2010. I know that there were known issues with the driver side fender cracking on the inside. It was known on the fj forum. So look out for that.

It is and I’ve seen it. Seems common if you put a heavy front bumper and winch setup. Mine is still stock so no crack for me

I have done a few mods. I did the side mirror led lights,new bullet antenna, led interior lights, KNN filter with charcoal filter delete, spark plugs.RCI rock sliders ordered.

 

Next is skids. Maybe bumpers but definitely some lights. Just don't know where to install them yet.
