My 2017 SR5 makes a clunking noise when I engage in 4- low I’ve only had it a month has 63k on it was wondering if that was normal

Normal! I say your hearing something normal. Mine does too as did my previous pickup.
Is this your first automatic transfer case?

Yeah, my 2015 SR5 sometimes clunks, sometimes doesn't clunk when going from 2WD to 4WD. Hang in there, Skipper.

What recreational activity are you doing that you go into 4LO... frequently?

Aaahhhh...gotcha. Well, for what it's worth... I am on my third 4WD truck since 2003...
    I don't think I have ever used 4LO.
Pulled cars out of ditches/snow, pulled out shrubs and bushes....always 4HI.

I figured this was your first. The old school cases had a manual shifter and didn't make much, if any, noise. The Automatic's do.

I use 4Lo several times a year. Usually creeping down a shitty, rocky two track on my way to go on a death march looking for elk. 4Lo is awesome :)

I use mine prairie dog hunting, crawling quietly across plot lands into the towns to lay down some dogs.....haven't gone with my 20 yet, but my 12 would clunk pretty good into 4lo if I shifted back into drive a lil early.

Agreed! I usually do that in 4HI on a straight country road that I drive frequently...
Perhaps I should do 4LO occasionally....

If I need 4x4 (e.g. pulling the boat out of the lake), I usually start in 4Hi so I still have another option if that doesn't work.

I've also only been switching to 4Hi to test the system for 10 miles each month. Should I be testing 4Lo as well?

I don’t think that would matter , it’s not like there’s 2 4WD systems as long as you use 4WD once a month to lubricate it .

My thinking exactly. And I definitely don't have anywhere to drive in 4Lo for 10 miles.

I can barely hear 4hi but I do feel and hear the truck go into 4lo, almost like when the abs tests itself. I'd say its normal

I would just like to take a moment for us stop from our busy schedules, pause, and thank the good Lord for blessing us with 4WD.
