I'm doing a few things to my front end so I'm looking to change out my headlights. A must have is they need to have black housings as I really dislike chrome.

I know there are some TRD Pros that are a direct replacement, non LED, Amber DRL, etc. Exactly what I'm looking for if you have some for sale in SoCal.

I've also seen two other options. One has a single LED strip on the bottom and the other has two LED strips, one on the top and one on the bottom. I'm not really interested in having the LED DRL strips using iHacker's P&P harness, but if I do happen to come across some of these LED DRL headlights, can they be used without the LED strips? Basically just install all my factory bulbs, harnesses, etc and go?

    TIA

If I did that I would have to change out the fogs as well because the light difference would bother me. Just not interested in all that.

I've seen a few for sale, but I need some answers to make sure I can use them.

The 2015-2017 TRD Pro are a direct replacement from what I've read.

It was either page 3 or 4 who had the halogen only, no LED strips

I saw them, but looks to be pick up only. I messaged him anyways.

He wants $440, but I can get brand new for about $490 shipped from Roman.

    Good looking out though....

Posted in the "What did you do today?" thread but here are my Alpharex Pro headlights I installed last week. Got them for $465 shipped with the upgraded HID via Nelson Man (of Alpharex) on Facebook. Let me know if you've got any more questions or want other pictures. I'm pretty happy with them, the output is awesome compared to the stockers.

I did 2018 oem leds in mine 2015 and they were a great upgrade in looks and performance over stock.

I just swapped in 2019 trd pro led factory headlights with a headlight revolution harness. Couldn’t be happier and only spent a little over $700

Actually I used sparks and “tundradude34” for the headlights. Harness shipped free from headlight revolution for $99

Bit the bullet and ended up going with the 2019 TRD Pro and the iHacker harness. Still looking for 2018 OEM LED fogs though.

I’m trying to hit the spend button on a harness. Is the main difference between iHacker vs. HRL the dimming option? The HRL install video looks way easy, but the hacker harness looks like the real deal quality and function wise. Anyone have thougts?

I went with the iHacker harness. Smooth transaction. Works flawlessly and high quality. Function is OEM and transaction was clean. Depinning the gray wire was a bear, even with the dang tool. Got it out, but still can not understand how this was supposed to work. Looks so easy in the tutorial

Mgmtundra, what year tundra and model do you have? Did you go with auto dimming? Everything looks easy on those installation videos.

2016 SR5 I went with the auto dimming harness and depinned the gray wire. It’s all pretty straight forward outside the depinning part for me.

I got 2020 pro headlights for my 2015 SR5. These are the black housing, full LED headlights (minus the amber turn signal bulb) and top and bottom LED DRL. I got the iHacker harness as well for the full DRL dimming function as well. A big reason to get the new headlights is the LED DRL funtion, and if you're not interested in that function then it may be a bit dear...if you're ok with that then you can simply get the new black pro headlights (which look killer and the headlights are vey good) and ignore the LED DRL and use the amber turn signal as the DRL as your truck currently functions. its a much simpler install that way...

if you do get teh ihacker harness and do keep the LED DRL i really recommend the dimming feature. it makes it significantly more labour intensive to sintall (not a big job, but it was the biggest part of the whole install) but its totally worth it. the strips are very bright and would be dangerous at night IMO.

I know what youre saying here...my tundra didnt come with fog lights, I added them at the same time as my headlight install and made sure ot have aftermarket LED fog light bulbs in the oem housing. not much of an investment and now all my lights are LED and theres no colour temp mismatch.

I bought some rigids a while back and followed the diy thread for install. I’m happy with the outcome. Great output. Reasonable cost.
