OK. I get it. I should have read more closely. It says "eagerly anticipated types." So It s not for real. The image is pretty bad ass though.

That rendering is from back in about 2007. That article is complete junk.

If they built one and could get it into the US market. The big 3 would probably tank out. I thought I read somewhere at one point that they're in Japan or something....but like stated before, its an ancient article and stuff. I think it would be fricken sweet tho and would tip the market here.

I think it would be great to have a reliable HD diesel (though I don't personally have a need for one) but I'm doubtful that you'd convince too many folks in that market to switch from the Big 3.

Though I agree, the requirements of DEF and EGRs on any new diesels means that a reliable diesel won't exist in the States. Maybe you guys up north aren't as strict so there is hope? I don't know these things.

Here in Alberta, the trucks come from the factory with all that crap but, as far as I know, there's nothing to stop you from deleting it.

Ah, and here it's all mandatory from the factory, and it is technically illegal to tamper with any emission control device. It's not a really heavily enforced thing outside of that state that needs to hurry up and fall into the ocean. :p Still, now that it's all been engineered into them, bypassing it has all it's own risks.

I think Toyota realizes there would be a very small market for a HD truck. They struggled enough getting a market for the Tundra. Truck buyers are notoriously brand loyal and HD guys are even more brand loyal. The only people they would be picking up are the people already buying a Tundra that want or need a diesel. They aren't going to be pulling many people from Ford, Chevy, or Ram in the HD market.

It is illegal, but with no enforcement it’s a widespread practice as you say.

First thing my coworker did on the 2016 Powerstroke he picked up recently. His new truck is nice but missing the turbo whistle his 6.0L had.

Cuz they're not a bunch of whiny Americans that need to be coddled with safe spaces, and have padded helmets for tackling each other. In short, cuz Aussie's rock.:headbang: If not for the lack of firearms and all the stuff that wants to kill you on a daily basis, it'd be a great place to live. I think so anyway.:monocle:

Ranchers do with proper permits to protect their livestock from Dingo's and such. Lots of gold and opals to find in the outback. Great beer. I could live there. Lots of diesel HiLuxes there. Blows away our Taco's!

Honestly, if you Mad Max a Tesla, I think it could be cool. Probably wouldn't be hard to retro a Warthog kit for it to have your own Halo-mobile to go dune hopping in.

I truly hated the looks of the Tesla truck at first but I can be realistic at times. Lucidity helps...where's my Megadeth cd......??? Ah....found it!
