So... it’s a running board with en extra step that pops out of the bottom.

I guess that’s one way to do it.

Yes. I have them. Love them. I don’t like the look of steps but needed them for the wife, kids, and other people who drag their ass and feet all over getting in and out lol.

Any tips for installation? Looks pretty straightforward. Is it true plug n play?

mine are hard wired. Even so, I literally installed them between squall lines of a Hurricane last year.

I think it's stupid they separately charge so much for the brackets when you need them. If it wasn't for Darren @BOSS4x4s I probably wouldn't have purchased.

Charge extra for the brackets? As in the brackets for the steps? I’ve never heard of that.

The Amp XL have a very similar drop but are about $600-$700 cheaper.

Just didn't want to do Amps. Everyone has them. I paid what Amps go for (PnP version).

They sent me the wrong brackets so now I'm waiting for Thursday

I ran the harness under the carpet though. In the dark. That was fun. Probably should've removed the rear seat but I didnt feel like it so I pulled the front bolts out then ran a pole from one side to the other - taped passenger side wires to it then pulled through.

Helps to have the right brackets for the job! After I had the step on the driver's side I realized the wiring wouldn't reach the plug on the step. Finagled the step back and forth to see if I could close the gap but nope. Whipped out the wire splicing tools and added about a foot (rather have too much than not enough). Anyway, the driver's side is on but the baby woke up so I'll have to complete the passenger side later on.
