I’m putting this in the general category because I have some basic questions.

I did a quick search and couldn’t really find the answers I was looking for.

    1. how much torque/horsepower gain should someone expect on a 2018 3rd gen? I live at 4800 feet.

    2. what would a ballpark total cost for parts and install be?

    3. What happens to your mpg?

    4. does a supercharger wear parts out significantly faster? Does it require a lot more maintenance?

    5. which brand do you, or do people who know what they’re talking about prefer?

That’s all I can think of right now!

    4. Of course, but it’s worth it
    5. The ones that go weeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

In all seriousness, I just want to be part of this thread LOL. I’ve been debating this since I picked up the Tundra. I love forced induction. :D

    1. how much torque/horsepower gain should someone expect on a 2018 3rd gen? I live at 4800 feet
@7psi = yes 7/14.7atmosphere = 48% gain, a Eaton TVS1900 take 25 hp to drive 5.7l at 7psi so approx 40% gain. Stock 3ur dyno 300-330 hp so expect your supercharged tundra to dyno 425-460hp ( all else being stock, air and exhaust etc )

    2. what would a ballpark total cost for parts and install be?
$7k + install yourself... or 10hrs labor x by the going labor rate $1000-2000 install

    3. What happens to your mpg?
It will go down because you are spinning the charger all the time similar to mpg with ac on and ac off.... others say mpg goes up... this is only the case if your truck was being lugged down ... larger tires, extra weight etc

    4. does a supercharger wear parts out significantly faster? Does it require a lot more maintenance?
No a charger will not wear other parts faster... using the boost will, just like if you wot your truck everyday it will wear faster as opposed to driving with an egg on the accelerator

    5. which brand do you, or do people who know what they’re talking about prefer?
I prefer TRD which you cannot get new now, get a Harrop TVS 2650 if you are going to buy new, superior 2650L vs 1900L size... which means for the same amount of air flow boost will be lower and therefore intake air temp will be lower.

Are you towing? Why not get a 3/4ton if you are else spend that $10k elsewhere.... get a used rc350 to hoon etc. And to be clear, both my tundras are supercharged, but if I was to spend that money again, I would get an s2000 instead

Thanks for the detail! I don’t tow often. I have a 2500# pop up camper that I pull 5-10 times a year and I sometimes put an ATV in the bed. Nothing daily.

I just plan on keeping this truck for a long time so I’m planning out how to make it exactly how I want it!
