They need to stop building vehicles for the yuppy crowd. Alot of people still like a V8. Bunch of horse shit.

I'll be keeping mine until it completely falls apart.

The problem is, there are too many people buying trucks now, that don't even need/use a truck they were intended for. Then they bitch about gas mileage and that's what truck makers listen to.

So many people buy a truck, because they feel like it makes their cod sack bigger, have no intentions of actually towing or hauling anything.

Truck builders have totally forgotten about the MEN that still use their truck and don't give a flying fuck about gas mileage.

    Rant over.

At this point it is just rumors, but yes, it is inevitable...eventually all V8s will be replaced by V6, then by turbo 4 cylinders, then by hybrids, then by all-electric. It's coming and there is not much we can do to stop it.

I did hear (maybe rumor also) that the next gen Tundra will offer both the V8 and V6 engines since they realize that there is a huge market for V8, but they have to introduce the V6 to get it on the market. It will be suicide if they bring the next gen out with only a V6 option.

Now it will really sound like an "import". We'll be seeing basketball tipped asshole exhausts that do nothing for performance, because there won't be any performance.... But there will be 1 or 2 mpg improvement! F'THAT!!!

And that spy shot looks like a neutered RAM cloaked in a widow's Vail. Definitely appropriate for the death of the v8.

    Don't knock Turbos or Superchargers.

Nothing comes close to their abilities in high altitude conditions - no loss in power. e.g. Ever climb I-70 west of Denver? Normally aspirated engines loose 43% of their power, no fun at all driving in the Slow lane at 50mph there....ask me how I know...

For the women on here, this post from me earlier, does not pertain to y'all. I actually see more women driving trucks, that actually use them, more than men.

I've often wondered about that. I've never pulled anything in my life and doubt I ever will. I don't feel like people are knocking turbo's or superchargers, I think it's just the "hey, I'd rather have a V8 and no extra parts" please. Kind of like me and movies now, Star Wars in 80K super Dolby THX ATMOS 300.3 Surround sound. Well.... I just wanted the movie and I'll pop the popcorn. :D

I absolutely don't use it as intended. It's daily driver and that's all. But that's just because I am to damn tall for a sports car. And I live in Minnesota. Gas mileage? I knew what I was getting into and I don't beef. :)

Turbos and Superchargers are great on V8's, but I have no interest in them on a V6.

Companies like Ford, GM, and Ram have all given both V8 and Turbo V6 options. Hopefully Toyota will consider offering both to see how sales go. Then the Men can have their V8s and the fuel mileage worried nannies can pick a more fuel friendly V6 option.
If they just offered just a V6, the values on older Toyotas with V8s will probably go up since people would demand them. I'd probably buy a 2020 with a V8 before a 2021 with a V6 hands down since its tried and true.

Watch all those V6s being made, just be for the Tacoma to get a big bump in power:rofl:

Also remember, in addition to the Tundra, the Toyota Sequoia, Landcruiser 200 series, and the Lexus LX 570 all use the 5.7L V8 and theres been talks that the Tundra and Sequoia are due for some major overhauls in design.

If they change it for one vehicle they'll likely have to change it for all of them.

    Tundra 5.7L - 381HP / 401lb-ft TQ

Hard to argue the above comparison.

Turbos are the wave of the future, if Ford can ever bring some reliability to the Ecoboost motors they'll win over a lot more truck owners. My neighbor has an F-150 Platinum Ecoboost 3.5L and an Expedition 3.5L Ecoboost. Those motors are stout when towing and fuel efficient when travelling. That being said, I wouldn't own one for nothing. I still believe in the old saying "there's no replacement for displacement". But I cannot argue the value in turbo motors especially in high elevations. But I will be owning my 5.7L long after Toyota comes out with a turbo V6.

It's also not how it will look. It was a render by a company based off what the taco and RAV4 look like.
