I love that run... passing bikers is my favorite thing to do on that blurred scenic drive.

Yes sir, and mountain twists & turns are my absolute favorite speed runs.
West Virginia has some of the most intense stretches of twisty pavement that I have ever straitened.

i love driving in the mountains but my Bride can't take it:sick:
We have plants in Alcoa and Cookville, anytime I have to go I try to time it so I can do the back roads.

Watch those Ford Fairlanes rolling in the curves and tell me a sway bar wouldn't have made them stick to the road better.

Wow what a can of worms I opened! Lol

well this is my full sized truck and I do not think of it like a track car at all. I have another car for that job.

I like hearing the benefits of some smoothing over pot hole filled roads and mild bumps. Allowing the front suspension to act independently.

I might take it off for some time and get a feel for it myself. If I don’t feel any benefits or feel any adverse affect I will put it back

Toyota is now using cheap interior plastic and reducing the number of door pockets and eliminating the glovebox light/LED (real dumb and cheap btw) ... to save a few dollars ...
I assume if they didn't touch the front sway bar, there must be a very good reason for it. At least good to have for a typical truck use and an average driver.

I assume heavy duty off-roading is another story and sounds like removing it can help ...

    few questions

Is the front sway bar just for cornering stability at high speeds?

Do other trucks like F150, Ram and Silverado have it?

How would it impact towing if you remove it? If I recall correctly, rear sway bar is good for towing and handling but what about the front?

My car with TRD feels kind of bumpy even on freeway ... Wondering if I remove the front bar, it will smooth the ride? I take no fast corners.

What if you remove your tires but leave the sway bar? Will that result in better handling while driving on exit ramps or the dragon? Saw a video on YouTube but I’m asking for a friend.

When I installed my 5100's, the ride was harsh and unforgiving. The wife even noticed and asked me what I have done to the truck.
I took 10 minutes and removed it and after ToyTech shackles, it rides better than stock with the 5100's on the top setting. To me, it's a truck and not intended to run the twisties at mach1. I have a bike for that. And I know how to drive and do evasive maneuvers at speed and keep control of a vehicle. I am a Tire Rack Street Survival School instructor.
To each their own but in my experience, it smoothed out the ride.
I may install a rear to assist with towing but I will not be putting the front bar back on.

Owning a truck that does truck things smoothly and cuts corners safely at Mach 1 is a joy to behold.

you and I are in the same boat it sounds like.

I even went a step further to create more body roll yesterday, swapped my 700 lb springs out for 600 lb springs

Softer springs work very well with heavier anti-roll bars.

FWIW I took mine off (Front and Rear) for an offroading trip. The ride was def smoother. Like very noticeably smoother, especially offroad! So I decided to leave them off for a while. One day I went to pick up a heavy dresser that we bought for my baby.
I was exiting and a car passed me on my left and shot in front of me to make the ramp at the last minute, causing me to brake and swerve to avoid an accident. Lets just say I needed a change of clothes. The truck swayed so hard to the left I thought I was going to lose it. THe articulation led to a loss of control, especially with the dresser in the bed. Put both back on the next day and never doing that again. Maybe take them off for offroading but use them on the street. Regular daily driving is not why its there. Its there to keep you from flipping the truck in abrupt maneuvers.

The higher your center of gravity is, the more you need anti-roll bars on the street.

Well the argument should actually be....if you're in a spot where sway bars are unsafe on the street.....you are driving wrong :)

But we agree, driver error will fuck up everyone

No front or rear swaybars on our truck and absolutely love it this way definitely not going back. I haven’t had any stability issues or excessive body roll when cornering. It feels better both on and offroad as far as no cross talk between wheels when hitting bumps etc. 32FA045D-B028-4B89-B075-75A05AADEF8D.jpg

Nobody will have issues with stability or excessive body roll when cornering - until they do.

Nothing requires sway bars, it’s all dependent on how your drive. If you slow down for a corner you won’t roll regardless, pure physics. Mine has been removed for years and I haven’t had issue. I tow trailers and campers as well.

That being said, I don’t plan on swerving for a deer, ima run the bitch straight over haha.

    Drive to conditions.
