Picked up the ARE MX series with center camp door and frameless widows. Looks great!

Thats a rad top man! Curious with these tops, if you needed to haul say lumber can you have the hatch open while driving?

I only ask as i would like to get a cap that i can use to camp with and utilize with work.

I suppose you could, as long as you tied the hatch door down as it opens pretty high up in the air.

Recently put an ARE MX on my crewmax. I have a regular lift gate on the back though. Cost me $2400 with install. Gotta say I love the extra height!

Wait ... I just realized the front facing skylight isn’t functional on my shell?! Can anyone else confirm their window is faux?

yes it is fake. I was told the manufacturer had too many problems with that particular window leaking and would no longer warranty the window so eventually just stopped cutting a hole for it.

Nice truck! I just bought a 2020 Limited TRD Double Cab and have started looking at caps for truck camping and kayak fishing. I’m wondering if my truck with an MX cap will fit in my garage. The door is a 20’ W x 7’ H. I don’t want to spend that kind of money only to find I have to park outside! Thanks!

I guess it really depends on what your truck ride height is. I noticed that my 2wd SR5 is A few inches shorter than others with 4wd options. I’m 6’5” and I’d say that my healthy is right at the 7’ mark. I can take it through car washes which is a life saver.

No, I am stock height and just confirmed I'm a bit over 7'2" the max height at the new fancy car wash giving away free $25 car washes for 4 days. Grrrrr. My guess is 7'4" or 7'5"

Hey @FSWanderer Any chance you are able to post up some more pics of your truck? The ARE MX cap on a CrewMax is a rare combo and I'd really appreciate seeing more pics. Thank you!
