    This is scary . I have a 2020 SR5 and want to level it and put a trd pro gille on it but think I might have to wait a bit . I have 2217 miles and no issues thus far.

    I had no problem with both, level no rake and 1" rake.

    I’ve got a post recall sensor on my all stock 2019 and just tonight in rain had a sensor malfunction error. Seems to be rain related

    the sensor will turn off in bad weather. It states all of this in the manual.

    18’ with 6112/5160. Never an issue since day 1.

    haha. It’s a radar. If there is too much “noise” while driving, ie, heavy rain, snow, etc. The sensor will turn itself off since it cannot get a good read from the sonar. Albeit you shouldn’t be relying on the TSS in bad weather anyway.

    Makes sense, but the PCS off warning on the dash is annoying.

    And to think anyone would rely solely on TSS to prevent crashes is idiotic. I can see the lawsuit now blaming the PCS for rear ending somebody: “but the PCS sensor failed! That’s why I crashed into him!”

    Wow....during snow this thing shuts off. I understand the radar blocked. Is there still a away to use cruise without activating/ setting the crash radar?

    Press & hold the cruise button for 3 seconds, that puts you in normal cruise control mode instead of radar cruise. Works like a charm.


    As for issues, my 2019 gets iced up on the front & the sensor will tell me to clean it, but that's it.

    I new on the forum and having all the TSS fun. truck is at the dealer will post what happens... WOW is all I can say.
    Not a happy new car experience.

    I was raining so hard yesterday I could barely see the car in front of me and the bastard did not have any lights on to make it worse. Never had an impact on the TSS and it has never shut off on my while driving

    I hope I don't jinx it but so far I haven't seen any issues with my pre-collision system. There was one morning that it was icy and frosty and it was initially off then turned itself on after a few seconds of driving.

    Full disclosure: I keep the LDA turned off all the time because it annoyed the hell out of me on one of the two test drives I did.

    I have a 2019 1794 stock and got these warnings with about 100 miles. I took it to the dealer and they traced it back to a loose wire in one of the harnesses. Replaced the harness and no issues for the last 4500 miles. Take it to the dealer and good luck with it.

    My truck has flashed and screamed BRAKE!!! at me twice in 3 months for no reason. Not sure what is triggering the radar to think it see's something but it does. My wife's 2019 Highlander Limited does the same exact thing. It's not very often so I'm not taking it in, yet.

    Looking go up 2" in the front to level it (spacers or 6112's), but not sure I should do it now. No plans to increase height in the rear. Seems some have leveled with no problems and some have had problems. I'm in a 2020 Limited that has had zero sensor problems to date. 2,600 miles on it.

    I recently put on Bilstein 5100s and set it on middle setting (~1.6” up front) and left the rear stock. Haven’t had any issues “knock on wood”

    Update: 2 years and about 30k lifted. Did the software update recall, didn’t do the recall where they cover the back of the emblem. Truck is parked outside.

    Everything still works normally

    Thanks @ninjajay. Good to know and glad it's working well for you! I haven't heard anything from Toyota about a recall for my 2020, but I'll ask them. I've already called my dealer and they said they will not under any circumstances do any sensor calibration, recall work related to sensors, etc, unless the truck is returned to its stock suspension first. That said, I need to make sure my sensor(s) don't need any work prior to leveling or lifting.

    15k miles on mine since level. Not a single issue. About 5k of those miles are road trips with long distance radar cruise set.

    I had a warning come on my 19 said something about auto headlight leveling (is that a thing). Loud beeping the whole works, stopped shut the truck off fired it up and it was gone. Stock truck by the way.

    @sask3m - nevermind, I see you're running the stock suspension. Yes, the headlights do have leveling functionality in case you have a the bed loaded down or are towing. I've not towed heavy enough yet to see the lights auto-level.

    The reason the dealer refused to calibrate the radar sensor is because they can't on a lifted truck. To calibrate the system properly there are targets that are set up at certain heights and distances then the sensor is calibrated to the targets. If the truck is lifted then the target height is not correct. The dealer won't calculate the difference. They could be liable so it's always done to Toyota standards. This also applies to the blind spot monitor and the camera behind the windshield. You really do have to start thinking is the lift worth it to go through all the aggravation. Toyota has now come out with a software update that requires the owner of a lifted truck to have to turn the PCS on everytime the vehicle is started. The customer signs a paper agreeing they are liable and accept full responsibility when they turn the PCS on.

    I honestly hate the radar mode and wish we could switch the default setting to normal cruise control.

    Actually, I wish we could just disable the entire TSS system. Everything about it drives me insane. I don't like all the warnings and errors, I just want to drive in peace.
