Sorry for the "newb" question. Don't rake me over the coals too badly. I used the search function and came up empty and I'm getting mixed answers from google. How often are y'all changing your oil? 10,000?

I do what Toyota recommends. If it's good enough for Toyota, it's good enough for me. If anything, the 10k recommendation by Toyota is a little conservative to avoid potential damage and lawsuits.

5k, OEM filter and cheapest full synthetic I can get. If you’re out of warranty plenty of people run longer intervals using higher end oils and filters without issue.

A quick search in this forum will reveal a myriad of answers - it’s highly personal. Toyota specifies 5K or 10K depending on if it’s FFV or not. But a lot of folks have their reasons for doing orherwise.

Me? Every 5K - I just sent off a sample to Blackstone so we’ll see what they say.

I switched to Amsoil last summer.

    0w-20 change every 10k
Factory oil filter change every 5k.

I have around 7500 miles on the oil right now and it still looks like the day I poured it in there.

I just did this^^^. Changed it after 5000 mi, 11,200 on the truck. Oil was darker than I would have expected at 5k miles. I use Mobil 1 full synthetic 0W-20.

Plenty of tundras with high mileage that followed 10k intervals. 5k changes is wasting money,IMO

Every 10K on a FFV engine, Mobile 1 & oem filter, I don't run ethanol & the engine internals are identical to a non-FFV contrary to internet speculation. I sent a sample to Blackstone at my 50K interval, the report stated the oil was still good & they recommended to go to a 14K-15K interval. I'm good with 10K, it's easy to keep track of.

    I am a light-duty Tundra driver:
    - no towing
    - no off-roading
    - 5,000 miles annually on mainly long country roads
Therefore, I change my oil once a year at the 5,000 mile mark with 0W-20 Castrol Magnatec or Walmart Supertech.

Not sure if anything has changed on the 2020's (I do know there is no longer two different fuel rated motors) but the salesman told me that the interval for my truck is 5000 miles. The sticker on the window says to come back at 5000 miles. But the maintenance manual still says 10,000 unless it's severe duty. So anyway I have lifetime oil changes so I'm probably gonna do it every 5k if they do it.

The 2020's no longer have a choice. There is no flex fuel and non flex fuel choice. It's one choice. So that is why I think my dealer told me 5k intervals. Time will tell. Truck has 263 miles on it so a ways to go
