it is what it is. as an old friend once told me, it's just another test. but, to be honest, i'm getting tired of all the tests from the past few years.

i appreciate the offer. it's very kind of you. i'm just circling the wagons and doubling down on my networking for the studio. lots of fingers in lots of cookie jars right now.

I know it's hard as I've been in your shoes, albeit a while back but hasn't in there. Keep practicing what you preach and faith in what you believe in and it'll turn around. I would have never thought I would be where I am today back when I was getting beat down everyday.

My last day of work is the 21st. We're only buying what we have to and saving everything else. Between my employment insurance and Canadian Economic Response Benefit the gubermint is giving The Woman, our bills will be paid but only just barely.

Not big spending but we ordered a nice cake from a local bakery for our little guys 1st bday on monday. We were going to just make our own but its nice to support local right now. We are also supporting our local brewery.:canada:

Wife and I are blessed to be working in jobs where demand is going up, if anything (me - civil service IT - one of those supposedly lazy gubmint workers who don't do anything; and wife is teleworking for healthcare).

I bought my truck a month ago, and since then

    - sound system
    - tailgate lock
    - N-Fab steps

Currently essential in the worst industry to be in right now, oilfield. I’ve been helping other people stimulate the economy selling a bunch of parts and a project truck I lost interest in. Cleared up an extra bay in my shop and building my savings account up.

I have been shopping more local business for grocery and take out since this started. Plan to use a local tire shop to buy and install new tires soon.

My wife's question about this was what if that business goes under in the interim?

My wife and I are fortunate for many things during this time. For our health and kids health, but also because we are both fortunate to still be working. My wife’s a nurse and I am a senior pm in heavy civil construction in which our work is booming right now. We’ve already booked 12 million in jobs this month alone so there’s no shortage of work. My wife and I split the stimulus. I purchased a new headunit from JRT and put the rest in savings.

I gave 500 each to a local brewery and restaurant. I figure if they go under then at least I tried to help and maybe got a few more dollars into some worker's paycheck.
The other 1400 we're holding onto in case our rental tenants need some help. They're both in the restaurant business and have been the best tenants we've ever had.

Just order custom front and back seat covers from covercraft.) Delivery date some time in June?

About 1/2 will go to support the two local nonprofits I work with.

Spend that money If you can, that what it is for!

I spent the money in a couple lgs, bought a bunch of overpriced shit ammo and final replaced my wife's shield after I stole her's last year. And we have significantly raised our take out ordering with 5% bigger tips than I normally would.

I was planning on getting a new trolling motor dependent on stocks. Not now. We had major furloughs today. I was looking at 2-1/2 years to a fairly comfortable retirement. May have to push that out. Trolling motor is almost $2.

I guess I should have been more clear, I didn't just mean the stimulus payment. I am asking more about what people have been doing to boost the economy in general.

For the stimulus, I'm just giving that to a friend whose husband has been laid off. No way to opt out of the stimulus, so I may as well get it to somebody who truly needs it.

No stimulus for us even though my wife was laid off. But we've been doing takeout from a local restaurant once a week.

We haven't received the stimulus payment yet. We paid taxes the last few years. I updated my info on the IRS website but it says to check back to see when it will get deposited. Has said the same thing for a week.
