Looks like the Tacoma guys are testing out the final tune for their trucks. That's good news for us!

 

Great! Then he'll iron out the NX, and we can start to look at familiarizing ourselves with the next stage of the process for the Tundras this summer.

HA! J/K, I have no idea what he's going to do next. Maybe he'll take a break and spend some time fishing.

 

Any 2018's out there get the vF tuner yet?

 

Just received my update (includes gear ratio & tire size correction) probably upload on Monday or Tuesday.

I'll be ordering the VF software this week for my 2018.

 

Do you have to order it? I thought I read that Mat would be sending it to those of us that already purchased his tune.

 

Well poop...didn't know I could do that. Hopefully the VF tuner allows me to use my final tune that I receive and make adjustments to tire size. I don't want to bog Mat down with another (of what I can only assume is a ton of) email(s).

@shellshock may be able to clarify this the best, as he also owns a Tacoma and spends more time over at TW.

 

The way I read it back in post #3238, it's optional, meaning if you want it, you should tell him (order it). Included in your tune if you want it.

 

This is the jist, as I understand it at this point. The vF software is for those who wish to dink with the the base tune. I was just going to try to be patient and wait for Mat to explain when he's ready and able to transition to the Tundras.

 

There is a discounted version of vf for current flash kit owners

New purchases of vf get vf + example tunes. Current flash kit owners are able to get vf + examples + request vf version of their tune to modify (makes it easy if you just want to tweak shift points, throttle etc, or a more refined baseline to start further tuning)

you don’t have to get / use vf if you don’t want to. Current customers will still be supported in current form (final tunes).

I've been lurking as well, it's a funny/sad. The workings of the DI/PI info has been educational to me, I'm glad we don't have to concern ourselves with it though.

 

There’s a few guys there who don’t know what they are taking about that like to come in from time to time and stir shit up. It gets old.

there’s some super knowledgeable people in the community... and some… that aren’t.

I'm a Tacoma driver running the 2.0 final. Transmission shifting still leaves room for improvement, I'll have to do myself.

How well do yalls Tundras shift?

Im not happy at all with the shifting. Holds certain gears too long and revs high, then upshifts twice and revs are too low. its weird. But Im on the base tune. I sent logs in and waiting for a revision

 

I am on base tune as well and in 4x4 with tow haul on it’s unusable in d and sporadic in s. mat is aware and working on fixes. I think everbody is affected differently esp on base tune. I will say with 4x4 off it does shift without difference than factory tune as long as not in tow haul.

 

I feel your pain with not liking shifting patterns...I'm on a Tacoma tho xD
