I know the obvious size difference but there is different backspace and offset issues i am looking at both sizes. I currently have the stock pro wheels and tires and will getting the body mount chop within 2 weeks to clear up more room for 35's just wondering if anyone has any opinions on what size to run as wells as pros and cons.

18 +20 offset or 17 +0 offset from what I found. Both Method wheels.

If you go no wider than 285 you can run a 34 or 35" tire on stock wheels without having to do a cab mount chop. 285/70R-18 and 285/75R-18 tires are cheaper, reduce gas mileage less, and throw less rocks at your sheet metal than 315/12.5" wide tires do. I also like that the stock wheels are hub-centric, which places a lot less shear forces on the studs. Why buy new wheels if you don't need to?

The whole reason for asking about this is me wanting to get rid of the stock trd pro wheels because I'm not a fan of them i am sure they are great wheels there is nothing wrong with them i just don't want the typical stormtrooper look that everyone with a white truck goes for.

plus i didn't think about it i have camburg uniball UCA's and max back spacing for them are in the 5.75-6 offset range so i was also thinking 17in wheels would be a plus in that category being on 4.75

The rock warrior wheel are 17" with a + 50 offset if I remember correctly. I like the 295 70 18 setup that I've got. The Cooper tires are about 34.5".

The wheels i am honestly looking at are the con 6 from method, but they are so new that i doubt i will even see them for months if i ordered them now. Even the method NV's would I'm guessing would be on a hell of a backorder seeing as though they said for my wife 4runner it would take 2-3 months i ended up putting the grids on hers.

With the 3" lift on the front, do you have to do anything to fit that size tire?

Think you'd have to do that with like a +20 offset or so?

with the 18's running 295 70 18 you will clear anything maybe needing to push the fender a little.

yeah with 17's and that tire size you are knocking about an inch off the height compared to a 18 running that size which blows.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Was just trying to figure out what I could fit with no cutting and stuff. A friend of mine has some 285/65r20 which is about the same height as the 295/70r18. And they look good. He's just got the leveling kit on the front of his truck and it rubs on a hard left turn. Only on the left though. Not a right turn. Haha

Nope, catch a little on the front while turning in reverse. Just need to take off the small front flap. Forgot to mention I have a 3/1 setup as well.

I have the RW wheels with 315/70R17 (34.5") with 1.25 wheel spacers with a final offset of 18.24. Perfect in my opinion.

From what I noticed there aren't many true 35s for the 17" wheel.

yeah but with the 17's i am looking at it would be 0 offset so i think pushing the front liners forward a bit and body mount chop would work awesome at least until i get a new bumper that has some good clearance in the front.
