I too have XM. I go in phases, sometimes listening to country, then rap, then rock. The variety seems much better then regular FM stations. But stuff I tend to hate is

    Sam Hunt
    Disturbed
That What’s your name, what’s your sign, what’s your birthday.. country song. What a stupid song

I used to listen to 93x a lot, they have been playing the same songs for years, drove me crazy

Slightly off topic but here goes anyway. My wife hates country but she loves this new song we heard on the radio called #REDNECK. We pretty much kill ourselves laughing when it comes on.

I used to like U2 but I think my disdain for them started when I read a book where the author tried to claim they're post-punk.
    Great song!

Seems you are changing channels often with many of those bands cluttering up the classic rock thing....

Nope. That's the beauty of Spotify. I usually run my own playlists. When I do let it choose music for me, Spotify has "learned" my preferences and 95% of the time plays music I either like or don't mind. I gave up completely on terrestrial and satellite radio a few years back after getting tired of the DJs basically plugging in an ipod with a dozen songs an hitting repeat.

I love how the Canadians here hate Canadian music. It's almost as if Canadian artists get famous because people are forced to listen to them, not because they're good. :D

I can tell Canadian lists just by the bands they list. It makes up 98% of rock stations up here

If Bon Jovi comes on one channel, I'll switch to another and it's it's usually on that one too. It's like their in cahoots with each other.

Vinyl in the house when I have music. XM in the car and work, usually Little Stevens Underground Garage

The Tragically Hip and The Guess Who are fantastic. Bryan Adams and Rush have some decent stuff, though Bubbles is a better singer than Geddy Lee in my opinion. I like most of Neil Young's music but not his activism. Most other Canadian stuff is trash.

    https://youtu.be/0X_wUflADA8

Radio stations around here used to be more diverse. It's only in the last year or so that I've started finding the same songs on multiple stations simultaneously. They also all blatantly run the same contests. I guess that's what we get for having only one or two big media companies in this country.

Back when I was working landscaping, my boss liked an oldies station that advertised that they wouldn't play the same song multiple times a day. However, they would play the same 100 songs each day. That got tiresome.

Working nights a couple years back and the guys in the control room would play country mostly. Either I was the only person who noticed that they played the same 6 songs every hour or all country sounds alike to me but that was really grating.

Sloan is another highly under rated Canadian band. They rock and luckily don't get overplayed around here.

Being from WPG, The Guess Who are overplayed so I can't stand them any more. Not to mention, I think Burton is a doofus.

I've only heard a couple of Sloan's radio friendly hits (e.g. Money City Maniacs). I'll add them to my list of stuff to check out.

We don't get The Guess Who as much out here. Musically, I prefer Burton's voice to Bachman's, which is why I never got into BTO. I hear you about getting to hate stuff that's overplayed, though.
