Hello! long time lurker coming from a OEM+ 4runner and finally found a tundra worth buying used and it seems like the dealer doesn't realize its a platinum.
Heres the run down: 2018 platinum crewmax: 52k miles
    TRD dual exhaust
    TRD rear sway bar
    Rhino spray in liner
    Bakflip trifold
    Nfab nef bar
    compustar security/autostart
    Husky x-act floor liners
    Interior is flawless
exterior has minor rock chips(acceptable for 50k miles)
can not find a single flaw
    PRICE: 33,000

My thought is that whoever priced this vehicle on the Jeep dealer website priced it as an SR5......either way i'm hopefully picking it up tomorrow!

Glad to finally be apart of tundras.com and pics to come! TIA

If it's been in 3 accidents or written off....not a good deal.

    Or

If it's too good to be true.

I find it hard to believe a dealer doesn't know it's Platinum. They run the VIN.

I am currently searching the market for a slightly used Tundra as well, and I would say in the current market that is a very good deal. As long as the truck has not been crashed.

some say the prices on used vehicles are about to crash. I haven’t seen any evidence of that yet.

Dealers don't often make mistakes like that. They input the VIN into a system and they get details. Either they got it super cheap on trade and want to flip it, they are shy of the high miles or there is problem.

And make sure that "Corporate" is not a rental car company. Ask for the full history report.

The quote he gave me says 2018 tundra sr5 crewmax on top. at first I thought it could have been a rental but would they have thrown on all the extras? When I go back tomorrow I will ask for a full report b4 taking ownership

The dealer is not making a mistake, they bought it for less than they are selling it for and they are making their money. In the end thats what matters to the dealer, by the time they add their fees, warranty and financing kick back they will come out well ahead. There is a reason car dealers love to buy fleet and rental cars and tout them as having clean titles, thats because most rental and fleet vehicles don't go thourgh insurance to repair damage so it never shows up on the report.

It does seem like a good deal just make sure you looking around for previous damage and cam tower leaks.

Is it 4wd? Didn’t see any mention of that. If it is, then see posts above. If it’s 2wd then it’s still a good deal but not a steal

Don’t think platinums even come in 2wd. But I could be wrong. But ya I agree it priced right, not a steal.

Sorry. Missed the link to the listing. If that’s the one, then yup, go get it. I would be curious to see why the shift knob is not oriented correctly though.

So did you already buy it? Your info says you already have a truck with those options. Or is the cart before the horse? Glwp!

Going through insurance is not the (only) reason damage would show up on a report. I've hit multiple deer with multiple vehicles and had them all repaired through the insurance company....not one instance showed up on any report. So far, the only instance where I had damage show up on a report (Carfax) was when my Silverado was hit by a drunk driver.... while parked ....and the police were called.

    corporate = rental
I owned a corporate Tahoe before. Was a mistake. But then again it was a Chevy. So. Perhaps Toyota can survive anything. Good price. I would get it. Down side to corporate is when you sell it. It will be hard to get as much money.

Not always true. Some regions list all leased vehicles or company owned vehicles as Corporate. Plus, the Carfax shows dealership maintenance which dramatically reduces the likelihood of a rental.

It doesn't look like a bad deal. See Cargurus report below. That a lot of miles for it not to be a rental or a salesman type car 22k/year. Also they know it is a Platinum. It is in their website description. See below

That include TTL? That’d be unbelievable if it did. Without, it’s believable. That’s why when I talk numbers about cars, I only use OTD numbers.
