Just what I thought, too. Looks like the bumper hit the body, scratched the paint, then sprung back out a little.

Either someone hit you or you hit something. It doesn't look bad at all after pulling it

If your truck was black you could just smash the gas pedal from a stop and the bumper would correct itself.

    Late to the party....

my wife backed into my tundra’s rear bumper not long after I got it. After freaking out, I looked hard at the result.

As noted by several, you can loosen the bolts under the bumper. That will allow quite a bit of articulation of the bumper ends. I was able to get mine back to straight and square easily. I had no paint damage. I did have to pull my driver side end off and use a body hammer to straighten a minor dent. I used a sand bag and gave it a few careful strikes and the dent all but disappeared.

Have had my truck for 6 months now and I just noticed it last week same issue but mines only come close to paint and doesn't look like it has been pushed up, yeah that long. gonna give this a try. I was hoping to find this thread when I searched I'm glad I did and glad you figured it out! though still, I'm curious to know if those 6 bolts precisely go in a hole in the frame how were able to pull it back into place? arent those connection points really tough to move? how much play does the bumper have to begin with that its able to be pushed back that much without anything being bent while secured on by 6 bolts? did you find anything else that got bent or misaligned other than pulling back the bumper away from the frame?

Bed is fine. I just need to adjust the bumper. I replaced a damaged end cap and have a bigger gap between it and the bed. At first I thought it might be the end cap itself but the plastic on top of the bumper looks perfect.
