I've researched until my eyes bleed, and here's what I've decided on...

I'd like to do a bolt-in muffler replacement only, on my 2018 Crewmax 5.7L. My plan is to run the aftermarket muffler when driving around normally. A couple times a year, I have to do really long road trips on the highway, and for those, I'll swap the stock muffler back in.

I've done a lot of looking, and I'm not finding options online. I am not thinking that a replacement muffler alone will help with performance; I'd just like the truck to have some more growl than the stock (silent) exhaust when driving around town.

I've ready about @dirtydeeds muffler-only systems, but I emailed him and haven't received a reply. I'm looking for any options that are cost effective and that will sound decent. And yes, I searched. Thanks!

Muffler only would likely need to be welded in. Would be a lot of work to swap out for roads trip, even if bolt on, thats a lot of work. Call Keith rather than email. He will get back to you. Or just get an 8 or 10 inch catback and enjoy it around town and the highway.

    Gotta call @dirtydeeds

It sounds awesome and probably best for what you're looking for, and you might not even have to remove the system for your trip

The muffler has 2 intake pipes and one outlet pipe; they are each 2-bolt flanges. It would be about a 3 minute job to swap it out.

Same size diameter pipe as the tundra pipes which from what I understand are not a standard 2.5"? And you'll use some slip fittings for the OEM muffler assuming that it's the exact length and pipe spacing as the aftermarket one? Or you would have the aftermarket muffler welded to new pipes with flanges on all 3? Exactly like the dirtydeeds set up? No matter what it sounds like more effort than its worth and maybe a good bit of money involved besides just the muffler. Unless you truly plan to just leave it installed. I would still call @dirtydeeds

One more vote for dirty deeds. It’s a simple system to swap, bolts right up to your truck. Call Keith. You may need to leave a message, but he’ll call you back. Great guy, great customer service, great product.

Maybe get an electric cutout welded in. Open it up around town and shut her down for a quiet highway ride.

@dirtydeeds is the ONLY way to go for tundra exhaust.

Direct bolt on and the resonator (if you decide to install it) takes about an hour if you take your time.
If you buy one, run it without the res for a week or so.
If it has too much drone for you, install the resonator.

I've had 2 DD systems, currently running a 10" with the resonator.
Ran a custom 7" for 3 years and swapped to the 10" last year.
Love the 10", 7" was a tad too loud for me.

If you ran a 10" with the resonator, I see no reason why you'd had to pull it on long drives.
Once I get over 65mph I can't hear the muffler much at all and there is zero drone.
If you're hauling wife and kids on a weekly basis, I'd suggest a 10".
If you spend a lot of time alone, go for the 8".

    Here is his install video..
Helmholtz resonator installation starts at 10:00 minutes.

Give Keith a call, he doesn't have much time to sit around and respond to emails..

@dirtydeeds is what you want. This video shows what his exhaust does. This is a 10" system designed for towing and such. With the resonator you won't have drone on your long drives. I have had a 10" since his labor day sale and still haven't installed the resonator. It's pure V8 glory. https://youtu.be/8HOEMhgQzIw *USE HEADPHONES* Speakers don't do it justice.

    Thanks for the mentions guys.

right now I respond to emails for about 2-3 hours a day and still don’t get thru them all. Then they get buried. Sorry for the non response.

best way to reach me is to call. It’s about a 15-30 minute conversation (this is why I don’t get thru all my emails everyday)

the point of the conversation is to figure out the perfect system for your use of the truck.

there’s no need to swap back n forth. I can build a system thst is aggressive on the throttle yet quiet when towing.

    call for details. 760-877-4234
