Hello, I have all of my fathers high dollar snap on tools, however I used a $11.00 dollar breaker bar to remove the oil filter after getting my ass kicked with ratchets and what not. It still was on there probably 130ft lbs, no bullshit. Anyways, I used the breaker bar and a 27mm socket over the Toyota tool. Then I switch to aluminum housing which says 25nm torque. So I hand tightened it and then did quarter turn with 27mm and installed the fumoto valve. Anyways pain in the ass, but a heck of a lot easier with breaker bar.

Thats one of the issues with having a plastic filter housing mate to an aluminum oil filter housing, that plastic will expand & contract with heat cycles, hot & cold temperatures, etc. Then again, 130ft lbs, dayummm!!!

Good thing you switched to that aluminum housing, good call

I don’t get why Toyota puts this plastic crap on, plus hopefully now the oil valve won’t leave any mess and it will be super clean with a lil hose to drain the oil. Tomorrow is katzskin Seats

Don't discount that it isn't for weight savings. You MUST remember that the penalty for non-compliance with CAFE is a sliding scale. This incentives the manufacturers to lighted ten things one-tenth of pound to save an aggregate of a pound. CAFE produces these sorts of actions.
