2wd tractors have a hell of a time backing up ramps as more weight transfers to the front axle backing up a slope.

Something to think about, depending on what type of implements you're thinking of running most of the 6/800 series don't have live/independent PTO.

Trailer is 16ft deck with 4ft dovetail ramps with 4ft pull out ramp extensions.
Tractor tires arent filled (made sure to ask), so that saves me some weight.

I actually dont plan on using pto much, if at all. I will probably trade/sell the brush hog and get an angle blade. Brush hog wont do too much good with the sagebrush and dirt. Really only need the fel and an angle blade, so the drag box and cultivator will probably go away also.

What I was thinking for transport is to drop the drag box off and put the brush hog on. Load nose first and flip the bucket down to get a little more clearance and have the brush hog on the ramps. Then figure out where to put the box and cultivator.

    Thoughts?

Got home about an hour ago.
I could tell it was back there on accelleration and maintaining speed downhill. But, balance was pretty much ideal. Zero sway, boucing from bumps was barely more noticable than without a trailer. Kept it at 55-60 for 172 miles and was a very comfortable drive.

Going to weld some D ring tie downs onto the bucket. Lifting the box on was a PITA because the chain kept slipping being wrapped around the bucket.

Drip pan is the transmission. The fill plug gasket is cracked and chunked out and the boot seems to be a recent replacement.
Bucket is the hydraulic section (milk shake) and the rear diff (mostly dark with a little milk). Hydraulic had the same gasket failure as trans, and the dipstick want wall the way in. Rear diff had a good non-gasket seal on the fill plug. Think the milk in it came from either sloshing over the separating rib, or through the seal.
Engine was nice and black with only a little contamination on the pickup screen.

Got 10 gallons of UTF to do a clean/flush. Will do a diesel scrub & flush then put in a "better" UTF after running it for a few hours.

Does this count as a tractor. Flex track with a fire plow on the back. It was my ‘work’ truck when I was with the NC forest service. Damn I miss fighting fire

Just picked up a new (to me) Deere. It will be strictly for my driveway in the winter. We average 120-150” snow every year and can get into the upper 200’s some years depending on the lake effect blasters.
    2C337CB9-0B78-4F55-8751-8F09402D7963.jpg
54” mower deck also and a weight bucket to attach to the 3point. The mower will probably only get used as a backup to the zero turn. But I’ll probably get a brush hog for the 3point at some point.

    A little update.

We now have around 50 hours on the tractor, and still enjoying it.

going to do the 50 hour maintenance on it next week. Ordered all Kubota filters.

I have broke something minor. The radiator overflow tank cap is not cold weather friendly, and it broke the cap. 6.00 and had it shipped to my address.

3025 JD here. For 5 acres it does fine. Only 45 hours in 2 1/2 years. But it sure comes in handy. I'm always amazed at how a 25HP diesel has so much torque versus a gasser

Saw this today and oh well looks like the timing belt broke

    Update for the 2305 Deere:

mid/front PTO had a busted part on the shaft. The outfit I bought it from kept repairing it poorly (I didn’t know about the shaft issue). Essentially wasn’t functional for more than 20 minutes. (My driveway takes 45-1hr to plow). This is after repeated attempts and requests to “just fix it, if I need a new attachment, etc. whatever I just need it to work.”
Finally get fed up, take it to the local Deere dealer (explaining everything), they call back asking me if I repaired it (I’d let them know ahead of time my lack of wrench turning ability LOL) and finally fixed it to the tune of $700. Big money but it’s an absolute tank now. “Runs like a Deere“ as the saying goes now. Slings snow, slush whatever. Most fun I can have with my clothes on. Now I’m looking at a cab. Gets a bit chilly in that hour I’m out there if the wind is hucking just right.

This is a thank God I got my small tractor post. I used my one row plow to help trench a water line I ran from the pump house to the new garage over a 120' away, and right at the end of the only possible route to the pump house is super roots that I thought I paid to have stump grinded 3 years ago. That's a size 12 shoe, no way this job could have happened otherwise.

I came across a smoking deal on a BX24 and haven’t looked back. It’s a little beast and a lot more fun to work with than the larger machine. It’s done everything I’ve asked it to do and then some. Just realized we had a tractor thread. I picked up this bad boy last fall LS 4145HC. Any tips on cleaning? It is a muddy mess right now in the northeast. Also waiting on the stone quarry to open back up so I can finish the pad and get cement in.Tractor.jpg
