I like how they put the TRD logo on the side. You can see it through the wheel well.

Pretty simple install. Unless your radiator bolts are rusted out and break on the first turn of your socket wrench...

If you run into any issues just holler! If you're by yourself, lifting with a floor jack works wonders...learned that pretty darn fast myself:wink:

I solo installed mine. Had the front on ramps, slid under the truck with the skid on my torso. Lifted it up and threaded a bolt enough to take some weight, wiggled to another bolt and did the same. One of the few times being fat and having a belly was advantageous. Could one are press and puff the gut up at the same time to get a pretty level lift.

Good for you doing it without mechanical assistance!
I used a racing jack with a 2x6 on it to hold up the rear end of the skid while I chest pressed the front up into place.

To be honest, I'd rather be in better shape and have to use a floor jack. Too bad I love food and eat my feelings! :p

I like being in just good enough shape to do stuff, but also not so much to give a damn if I eat two burgers instead of one. :notsure:

I’m inspired by your awesome skid plate, I just ordered mine from Toyota of Cool Springs. So stoked!

So I just changed my oil for the first time with it and it definitely made the access to the filter a lot easier. But whatever genius designed it, made it so when you're draining your oil, whenever the level gets low and it starts running down the side of the oil pan, it runs right onto the skid plate so oil got all on the topside of the skid plate and ran off the opposite end from the oil drain plug. So you either need to put a piece of plastic or something to act as a slide for when the oil drain gets low, or get a fumoto valve. Luckily I put a tarp down so I didn't get oil everywhere

Yep and that's a "gift" that keeps on giving... The same thing happened to me and although I thought I had cleaned it off the top of the skid plate, it kept making small puddles of oil for the next 3 days. I thought I either had an oil leak or screwed something up with the oil change the first day it happened. After 3 days I finally loosened everything up, dropped the back of the skid plate, and made sure all of the oil was cleaned off the top. I ordered a Fumoto valve that day...

Trust me I wanted to order one but with this damn virus and Amazon not shipping essentials until whenever I have to wait till next oil change. Which valve did you end up buying? And what are your thoughts on it so far? Any worries about it coming open?

I bought the F103S and the hose kit made for it, so the adapter end of the hose kit attaches to the nipple and routes the oil wherever you want it. The valve came with a clip to help prevent the lever from moving, so I'm not too worried about it opening. I bought the short nipple one so that the end doesn't extend past the skid plate.

Doesn't really hang down because of the angle the plug mounts at.
