Sorry for the extra mirrors thread but I couldn't find anything. Do any of the models of the Tundra automatically tilt the side mirrors down (or at least one) while in reverse? I loved that feature on some of my other cars.

    Anyone know?

    Thanks!

Same. My 2016 328i does that. But I suppose that's why the msrp for the 3series is just as much as the TRD 4x4 Tundra lol...

Haven't herd of any tundras doing it.

Yeah. I loved it in my m3 and think it would be really helpful in the Tundra. I like the rear view camera but I'm more of a mirrors guy to see what's around.

A little of this and a little of that.
I feel the same way, although I'm now depending on my BSM and rear camera to see more.

My old Acura did it, I wish my Tundra did it. I haven't done it yet, but I'm thinking of trying to make my driver 2 setting the same as driver 1 except tilt the mirrors down.

Yea no option for this that I know of for the Tundra. Just have to do it manually. I'm sure someone could add a programmable chip and figure out how to make this work. Or even swap in the module from a BMW.

I manually turn mine down when I off-road so I can see where my rear wheel placement is on the rocks.

    Doesn't exist.

I found it to be useless on my GMC anyway...for me. Nothing like burning up expensive tow mirrors that fold.

I find that Toyota is just practical in most situations. This being one of them.

When you are backing into an end parking space that is next to a curb/island, it's really helpful to see how close your tires are to the curb.

    Nada yet.
The Landcruisers (08+) have the tilt in reverse mirrors. Maybe a retrofit could be done with the Tundra?

Been using bubble mirrors to back trucks, vans, etc into spots for years. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why, with my Tundra, I was always parking crooked with the ass end farther away from the driver side line than the front. Everything lined up in the mirror but the tires were always off. Finally figured out that little bit if fender flare on the '14 screws it up when viewed in the mirror. I hate lining up with BU cameras.

I also need to find a mod that will light up the curb and lines when in reverse. It's hard to see in the bubble mirrors when dark.

Do you not like the look of a convex mirror or tow mirror? Or both? I find the convex part to the tow mirror very helpful when parking. I am old school. Less electronics you have, less stuff that will break.

I wouldn't necessarily say I am old school but I have old habits. I'm not a fan of the way convex mirrors look. (Or tow mirrors for that matter) I think the regular mirrors are fine overall, just wish they tilted down a bit for easy parking when backing into a space. I prefer to use my mirrors vs backup camera when it comes to lining up with the lines.

I see. I was gonna suggest convex stick one mirrors, but if you don't like them. . . .

How about this one? (I know very little about this particular product, but they seem to claim to do what you want the mirrors to do. http://www.kptechnologies.com/products.php#/13

I did this yesterday. I angled the mirrors down manually to help park. Then when I was park, I just hit the Driver 1 button and they came back level.

Yeah, I went ahead and programmed driver 2 with the mirrors facing down. It does make parking right next to a curb (backing in) easier, but you do have to put the truck in park before it will let you switch between driver settings.

Adding to the thread. 2019 Platinum does it the mirror tilt but only sometimes. I have to bust out the manual to figure it out when/why it triggers the mirror tilt in reverse.

my 1794 has it. the trigger is you switch the mirror adjust to left or right and it will tilt both mirrors. if you leave it center, they won't tilt (or will tilt back up if you switch it in reverse)

This is a new one. Cool idea. Lol We need heated, power close, tow mirrors, with blind spot monitoring, blinker on outside, that turn down when reversing, and sturdy without making noise

Glad I'm not the only one lol... I have that on my 2006 Lexus LS430 and for whatever reason just assumed a 2018 anything pricey would just have that feature ahahaha first time I went into reverse I was confused. I even toggled the mirror switch thinking it was a position setting lol. I absolutely use that on the passenger side to park close on one side to prevent dings.

Got over it and do it with the button when I really need to. Back up came is fine but not the same once you've have the automatic mirror tilt.
