What am I doing wrong? I keep my foot in it all the time and take every opportunity to accelerate hard onto freeways.

    OK, I'm kidding.

These are great big heavy, powerful work trucks and I'm TIRED of listening to people whine @#$% and moan about mpg.

You did not buy these awesome trucks for short runs to Starbucks.

    Can I get an amen?

I'm only getting 12 and I haven't even lifted it yet. Haha just thankful I have a 38 gallon tank.

    Who's complaining about MPGs???

I believe we all know what we were in if the purchase was a 5.7L

    At least I was... :anonymous:

How many miles? It actually took a while for me to get into the 14s but I'm only at 1500.

I've had good luck getting lower mileage by under inflation of the tires. Keeping a lot of extra unnecessary weight in the bed seems to be showing promise. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get under 14mpg.

lol nice! It will get a little better. I am up to 1500 now (had it since Dec 2) It took a bit for my Tacoma to get better mileage. Then I was averaging about 21.5mpg mixed per tank. I was impressed. If I can get 15mpg mixed per tank in the Tundra I will be really happy.

No worries....just razzing anyone that complains alongside ya in a non-direct manner.

Heck, my water toy fuel consumption is measured not in miles per gallon - but in gallons per mile. Compared to that, my Tundra is a highly efficient economy truck.

It's about being informed, and keeping things in perspective. Even a horse has to eat hay...

I dont think it hurts the Tunda that much. My Future MIL's truck gets around 14mpg and hers is lifted with 4x4. I think her's has 3500 miles on it or so

Naw not at all. I'm keeping it easy for break-in right now too.

Could be because it isn't broken in.

It will NOT getting much better...I was at 5000 miles in Stock and got about 14 mpg mixed...I was glad I got the 38 gallons tank since I drive about 65 miles every day locally.

A little of this and a little of that.
I average about 12.8 overall. That's from a little heavy footin it to babying it. From freeway to traffic. I'm actually surprised I don't get better because I'm usually light on the peddle. I'm so happy with my truck though I really don't mind. It is what it is.

Well my truck was purchased for a kid hauler and daily driver. Would be nice to get better on the side roads but I don't complain.

Can I send you my P.O. Box and send me a check? I like people that throw money out the door.

Personally, I have always taken in consideration fuel economy....and no longer daily drive expensive trucks. I have for the past 12 years and it was not my smartest idea.
