Improving gas mileage?

What can I do to my 2017 Tundra TSS 4x4 to get better gas mileage? I’m getting 14.0 miles a gallon

Definitely sucks. No lift or even over sized tires.

 

I've had mine for 12 yrs now and mpgs are still 15 to 16 best case. Long trip maybe 19.5 to 20

 

Just a warning..... Gas Mileage threads are a touchy subject around here. I am going to go ahead and summarize all responses:

1. Trade it for a Prius

2. Did you look at the EPA mileage ratings on the sticker when you bought it? 13/17? You will more than make up the added few costs through reliability and higher resale value on the back end.

I am just having fun of course.

It's a 5.7 beast of a truck with 4.3 axle ratio and only 6 speeds tranny. Meant for two things only hauling ASS and hauling trailers

 

I’m finding that out, great truck and I definitely love it but damn it drinks lol

Tyler I am just having fun with you, in all seriousness ai average 15.6 MOG tracked by Fuelly app over the first 35k mikes of owning my truck. I can tell you that I can actually get 17 to 18.5 MPG if I keep the truck between 55 to 65. Anything over that and mileage really starts to suffer. I averaged about 80 to a trip to Florida and got 15.7.

Lol all good man. I figured as much. Ok I’ll definitely keep that in mind. I’ll run that for a month or so and see how it goes.

 

I actually found that my onboard computer is usually within .2 to .3 compared to my fuel up. Finally calculates 15.5 and computer says 15.2 to 15.8.

Track your miles and see if you are really getting 14. In all honesty you probably are.

Damm i get 20+ hand calcuate on highway with 5.7 going 72mph. But i have many mods lol..

 

Nothing, it is a 5.7 liter V8

 

Drive 55 or less.

 

I don’t know about that. I still have 3/4 of a tank after a week & a half. That’s pretty good. Que no?

 

I bought mine because I like buying gas. But that’s just me.
