Body Lift Removal Kit?

Hi everyone!

First post here. I picked up this 2002 Tundra a couple years ago, primarily use it for towing my Civic. It's now my daily, and I really want to remove the body lift that came with it.

Is there a stock-like bolt and bushing kit available for these Tundras? Or, any advice on picking up the correct size bolts and bushings?

Daystar usedto make a body mount kit, it was apparently pretty good and had less flex than stock.

Looks like Dorman might be the only option. I think the bed is hard mounted to frame but I can check when the rain stops to be sure.

I hate body lifts. Nothing ever lines up correctly. Good on you for taking it back to stock.

Darkness, I appreciate the link! I'll do some research on the back, I see on Olathe Toyota's site there are bolts and bushings for the rear. I'm hoping to find something like that Dorman kit for the rear too. Thank you again

Will definitely be some work getting that kit off. The spacers under the bed appear to be welded on. Steering extensions, brake line extensions or rebending may have been done. Your tires will likely rub like crazy once the vehicle is returned to the lower stock height. What's the main reason your wanting to remove the kit? Looks, function? On a positive note, you've got a nice practically rust free undercarriage! Good looking Tundy.

 

All of the above, haha. I actually want to replicate your setup! 5100s and a 265/75/16 tire. I got quoted $700 by an off-road shop here in SoCal for parts and labor, and he said the spacers under the bed weren't a big deal. Starting to think eating the $700 is the best bet to get it done.

 

I want a body lift.. lmk if you decide to sell it.

Yeah.. I installed one on my Dakota years ago.. other then me having to wait 3 days for the proper steering extension to come in the mail.. the install was pretty easy..

 

Oem is the easiest way to go. But $$$ there’s the possibility 1st gen Tacoma body mounts would work on a 1st gen tundra. And yes the bed is hard mounted (at least on my single cab.)
