Why do you shift ? I don't mean to sound like a d$ck but. Automatic does it so well. I feel like when I shift it eats fuel. Only time I shift is when I need to slow down.

Here is mine. OEM tires. Pro Comp wheels. Fender Flares. I save on MPG not much but still. Ride is smooth. I also don't need to worry too much as far as aggressive tires. Can care less for that look.

 

The column shifter also eliminates all of that chromed plastic that most of you complain about because it reflects sunlight right into your eyes.

 

I also like to pull it into 4th and use engine braking to slow down, and I leave it in D allowing the transmission do it's thing 99% of the time.

 

Unpopular opinion:
1:I dislike most color matched trucks specifically on white trucks, it just looooks so meh to me especially when done poorly with 50 shades of white...keep the chrome
2: might just be my younger generation mindset but I feel like most people run 6” bracket lifts and jack their truck to the sky... it doesn’t look right to me. My mindset is lift only as much as you need to clear desired tire size. I’m on 37s and if I rolled my truck up to some guy with a 6” on 35s I could almost guarantee my truck sits lower. Idk maybe I just come from the go fast desert bro mindset

 

Not a big fan of white and chrome. Maybe a metallic white.
For a DD, more than 3/1 on our trucks is silly.

Where did you get the third brake light from or did you make it? I am looking for a light like that one, it matches the lights that I have for the rest of my truck.

 

This, although for a different reason. I always assumed that one lifted their truck for reasons of clearance. Where I live, during parts of the year, you HAVE to have something with more than a few inches (as a car might have) of clearance. And yeah, I totally get an aggressive stance, but at some point it goes from having an aggressive stance to being a pavement princess. I know tons of people around here with 6-12" lifts....who live in the suburbs and *NEVER* take their truck offroad. LOL

 

I find it hilarious how the guys who lift the shit out of their truck seem to have a goal of the smallest possible size tires. Everyone is running 35s/37s on a 3" lift or less, and big lift bros are like "pics of 32s on an 8in lift?!" like fuck, you should be running 40s if you're going that big, unless there's a benefit to being able to fully crawl into your wheel well since your tire doesn't fill it?

 

Yup - engine braking on old 2006 was almost non-existent; 2019 a little better. Also for winding/hilly backroads - an automatic can't predict whats coming ahead, it only reacts.

 

It's like how can someone take the nectar of the gods and make it taste like dog piss.

GM tow mirrors don’t belong on Tundras ‍

 

The old TRD off road decal was cool. The new one is so... so... Ford!

 

I am actually looking forward to the next gen Tundra with the twin turbo V6. I love my 5.7, but I test drove a couple of Fords and the 3.5 Ecoboost is a beast. Just couldn’t buy a Ford. But same kind of motor made by Toyota... sign me up!

 

The stock antenna is so long that it was dragging against my garage door as I was pulling in so I had to swap over to a stubby. Reception is actually pretty good

While I agree with you, I still put them on

I still don't love the way they look (I think they'll look better once the truck has some lift and tires under it), but the visibility is just so much better.

 

We were in Brugge last fall and went to the Sint-Sixtusabdij van Westvleteren monastery to try some really authentic trappist ale but they were closed for tasting that day. Unfortunately that was the only day we were going to be anywhere near there and couldn't come back.

protip: Don't stay overnight in Brugge. It's really beautiful but it's basically a huge outdoor mall. There is much cooler stuff to see in Belgium than Brugge!

I went to Belgium with a friend back in 2014 as part of a larger trip and we stayed in Brussels for a few days. We had a blast! We wanted to get over to Brugge but by that point we couldn't handle any more European drivers so we returned our rental car and stumbled around Brussels.

 

Test drove a 2018 Sierra with those tow mirrors and my wife was in awe of how much you could see in them. I'm still tempted to put some on my truck.

 

Brussels is great too! We hit Brussels, Brugge, Diskmuide, and checked out several WWI and WWII historical sites. Had a great time in Belgium but I prefer Netherlands.

 

They do stick out like a sore thumb, but I think they look a little more appropriate with some bigger tires and a lift, which is next on my list anyway.

And yes the visibility is just unmatched. I love the convex mirror on the bottom and being able to see exactly what is in my blind spot, and even the rear tires. Seeing the rear tires makes backing up and maneuvering in tight spaces that much easier. And since I tow a lot, this is really important to me.

 

We did our war site exploring in France (Juno Beach and Vimy Ridge). I did kind of want to see a great uncle's grave site that was between Brussels and Bruges but we didn't make it over there.

I had a great time both times I was in Amsterdam! Haven't seen the rest of the Netherlands, unfortunately.

 

Never tried one but given the opportunity..long as it doesn't taste like ink.

 

i love brussels. such a great city. in my list of top 5 ex pat locations.

You only think they look bad because people who have them are legally obligated to keep them flipped up all the time, even if all they're towing is a phantom trailer.

 

Haha. My father owns a Ram 2500 and every time my brother or I would visit his house we would flip his mirrors out He absolutely never has them flipped out, even when towing, so it became a fun little tradition to mess with him
