    Yeah I did I just dont like that they have the wing nuts. But I'll go to lowes tomorrow and see if they have regular stainless steel

    What group battery do you have that you are trying to install this with?

    For the Tundras, with the group 34R battery, these will utilize the factory J-hooks. Only the Tacoma platform will utilize the J-hooks that are included (this kit fits 5 different vehicles) as one of the J-hooks on the Tacoma is built into the battery strap.

    Most Tundras have either 27F or 24F batteries.

    I bought a flat aftermarket hold down on Amazon for my new 24F X2 Power, and the factory J hooks were too short.
    I ended up sending it back.
    I like the way the factory hold down hold the sides (top edge) of the battery as opposed to just clamping from the top.

    Pretty sure a 10" J hook would work for the SDHQ hold down...

    That is going to be the issue. This battery hold down is designed for the Group 34R battery, not the 24F or 27F. So if you are using it outside of the 34R, you will need longer J-Hooks because the 24F and 27F are taller.

    It is when used with the Group 34R. This hold-down is for specific use with that size battery.

    They fit the Group 34R no problem. We wouldn't advertise it if it didn't work. I have attached a picture of it installed as well.

    Search your vehicle below and for the variations option, select "optional" and it will show you the 34R. If you are looking at the standard fitment (or Autozone or Costco is pulling it up for you), it will show the 24 or 27.
