OUR vF Tuner will be FIRST Software in the world capable of flashing and tuning 2019 ECUs.

No need to remove the ECU. No need to swap ECUs. No key resets. Flash and go

my tundra is currently sitting waiting for the stupid fuel pump recall. I swapped back to the stock ecu a couple weeks ago in the event they have a surprise ecu update as part of the recall.

What is the status of the 2018's?

OV, from what I understand from your previous posts, you guys will no longer make tunes, but instead making a tuner software and leave it to the customers to tune their trucks. And the vF tuner is a tuning software only. And the only customers that will get your tune are the current ones that have bought the tune before this new change took effect. Did I get this thing right?

 

Finally at last - there's light at the end of the tunnel for 2019 5.7L Tundras

I want something that's plug and play based on my current mods (TRD Intake, TRD catback exhaust, and maybe some ARH headers in the future)

 

I'm wondering if they will offer a price to tune your vehicle like how it was included before.

I would have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to tuning, and I'm not going to learn on a $40k truck.
I was really excited to have all these features, but bummed now.

 

I have a feeling it will be dummy proof, which if I even think about trying it, it will have to be. Once Mat finishes the current tune, I doubt I'll need to change anything.

 

I was unable to reproduce this. I don't have the gizmo that turns the TC off though. Also, I'm not able to turn off VSC in 2WD, FWTW. I didn't think to see if VSC would turn off in 4WD, maybe another time.

Okay, I went outside to check it out. I can't turn off VSC in any situation. 2WD/4WD Hi or Lo Range. It may have to do with my Sequoia T-Case swap. My truck is an '11 with an '08 Sequoia 4WD computer. I ain't gonna fret it.

Also guys please do not let this confuse you. It does not change the files / tunes we are already working on for you guys. We just aren't tuning more trucks past this point. Instead we will be offering our software (with the features we are developing) and you, the user, can tune from it.

So if you have our flash kit you still get our tunes, service + ability to use vF if you wanted

 

How will vF tuning work if we are awaiting an update from you? Will your update overwrite anything we flash with vF tune? Thank you.

 

Nothing changes, since majority of folks awaiting an update are not 2018 trucks, so vF will not be available for you/them anyway.


But yes, if you make your own map in vF, it will erase the map that is on the truck.

 

Wish I would have known about this ahead of time. I have no idea how to tune a vehicle. Would have gladly bought a tune to get in before they were gone.

 

There will still be base tunes available for you to use if you don't have any radical mods. Give it some time and keep checking in here.

 

@OVTune I'm very interested in your new software. Obviously, or I think obviously, you can tell me if I'm wrong, as long as we have our tune that you've made us saved on our computer, we can flash back to it if we don't think we're doing a very good job using your software. Is that right?

Also Mat, it seems like and has seemed like we have been on the cusp of having our tundra tune completed for some time now. Could you throw us a bone and just give us some kind of idea when this all may happen? With all the respect I can say this with, the Tundra doesn't seem to be a priority and now with the new software I'm very concerned about it being even less of a priority. Again you know I like you and what you've done so far, so please don't consider this me being rude or trying to ruffle your feathers. Thanks Mat.

 

Can files be shared user to user through this new software? Like many others, I am afraid of tuning my own truck when I have no idea what I'm doing with it. That's a big risk.

 

According to posts from mat on tw, Yes you are able to share files

 

Yeah you can always flash back to something else. Just like you can go back to the stock tune

vf tuner is a program to create tune files. I’d assume we still utilize the existing flashing utilities (pcm or p5flash)

 

You can freely share, or even sell, your tune files with others.

I think everyone here, as well! I would like to say he is just popping in and missing my question, but due to the fact that I've had zero response to any email I've sent as well my post here, I am tempted to believe otherwise. An update keeps people from wondering what in the world is going on. Not hard.

I believe 99% of us have been faithful and patient customers.

 

I think that we're aware of the changes still being somewhat in their early stages and there may be aspects that haven't been pondered as yet, and that's totally understandable. We're just a curious lot here, and we're excited, which isolation can promote.

 

@OVTune - would you be able to share details on the base/sample tunes that are include with the VF software for a 2018 Tundra (non flex fuel)?

Would it generally be equivalent to what you were providing as custom tunes for a standard non-supercharged 5.7?


Edit - one more question: Windows only? Or Mac compatible.
