Taking off steering wheel emblem

I want to take off the steering wheel emblem so I can plasti dip it. How does one do this without breaking the emblem? I search on the forum but didn't find anything.

 

If you're just going to plastidip it, take the whole airbag cover off, tape an inch outside the emblem, spray the whole thing and peel off the over spray. You need to break the tabs a little to take the emblem off and would say to just paint it at that point. You'd need to use epoxy to put it back on after that, where the clips go through to the back.

 

Have you done both methods. It seems like taking the airbag cover off is a little bit of an over kill unless taking off the emblem is more than likely going to break it.
