295/65r20 on factory rims

Is anyone running that size of tire on stock rims or running 295/60r20's. Need pics and problems with sizes.

 

No pics, but I did see a Tundra near downtown Dallas with those size tires and the black TSS 20x9 wheels (Ultra Gunners) with +50 offset. Don't know if the truck had wheel spacers, though, and have no idea if and how bad the combo may rub. It definitely looked cool.

 

I have 275/60r/20 0n the stock platinum 20"wheels. I had to remove the front splash flaps and had to trim (Some people just bend) the skid plate to make it all work flawlessly. I am not sure if spacers would help/hurt the problems. I would probable need fender flairs if I did add spacers.

 

You had to remove the splash guards and trim the skid plate running 275/60R20??? I have the same size tires and had to do none of that. XSP editions come stock with that size. Is yours a 2 wheel drive?

 

Mine is 4x4. I read somewhere that the wheels that I have have one more inch of back spacing then the other Toyota wheels. I can't verify it though.

 

Yeah that is strange. I have the Limited 20's and have no issues. I believe their offset is +60.

 

I made a mistake about the offset of the black TSS Ultra Gunner wheels. I assumed they were +50 since my chrome TSS Ultra Grinder wheels are +50. I'm not sure what offset those wheels are for the Gulf State Toyota contract. You can get those same wheels new from ebay (not the Gulf State Toyota package wheels that dealers use for the TSS edition), but I believe they're +30 offset. Have no idea if the TSS editions are also +30 offset.

 

Running Nitto Ridge Grappler 295 65 20. So issue will be where do you want rubbing. With stock tss wheel 20x9 +50mm, it will rub on the sway bar and front wind dam. Both of these can be removed. You do not need a cmc, infact the mud guard can be left in place. The upper control arm may or may not rub depending on your kit. I did a rough country 3.5 and it came with new control arm. About half inch of clearance from the new UCA. It barely rub the front fender that it doesn't need to be removed just heat formed. This leave the sway bar. You can either remove the sway bar or find a shop that will fabricate you new one that is bent about half inch in, or run a different offset. Most guy that do +25mm will begin to rub the cab mount. You may want to try +40mm or even +35mm. it only rub the sway bar at about 95 percent from full lock on forward/reverse. But these are going to be the true 35 in tires. If you don't want any rubbing or removing components stick to 285 65 20 using stock wheels.

 

So I wanted to update people who are considering this tire size. I've made some changes in order to not rub and avoid spending extra money for different off set wheel or spacer that would lead to a body mount chop. All I had to do to make them fit using factory wheels is remove front air skirt, heat gun molded the front fender a bit and remove the front sway bar. The ride quality is almost 2x better with the sway bar remove for off roading and hitting bumps and pot hole on the road. The down side is cornering at higher speed. With the rough country 3.5 in lift and 35.1 I'm over 5 inches from stock. Removing the way bar compound this. So far I can safely and comfortably corner at around 15 mph maybe 20 but that's really dicey the faster you try to go. Where as on a stock truck you can corner at 25 no problem and on occasion 30.

 

Just get 1.25” boras.

 

soo that equate to a +25mm off set which then rubs the body mount. Also running more negative offset from stock can increase wear on axle bearing. This isn't a big issue for people that don't tow or have heavy payload but since I plan on towing at max if not exceeding max I don't intend on using spacers.

 

I had a 3.5” lift with my prior 2018. I ran +18‘s With those same tires and all I had to do was trim the front fender piece behind the fogs.

 

What size is your wheel? 20x9, 20x10, +18mm offset?

 

I’m blanking on it. They were KMC XD 20x9 I believe. I had a 2018 platinum before the pro. God why can’t I remember. Yes +18 offset

You might have had it custom built because that wheel doesn't come factory for our truck's wheel bolt pattern.

No body mount rub or was it so slight it wasn't noticable?

 

Every truck is slightly though. Remember that. I zip tied the mud flaps To bring them closer to the body mount. That piece over the body mount sticks out too much. You could also get the coachbuilder bumper shims to help save some of the front fender too.

even if you had to slightly grind down the body mount it’s still better than having to take off the front sway bar and everything
