Here is a link to RCI's site. They have some pics that might answer your question.

Mother f#@&3r! I just ordered the RCI Friday night for our new off road buddy (GX 470 ) since I don’t want to pinstripe our Tundra anymore. Didn’t see the 15% off code till now.

The RCI (steel option) and Pro skids are both 10g steel. The Pro skid has a slightly wider coverage. I’ve beat the $hit outta my Pro skid and it’s holding up like a champ. I have RCI skids behind that

The standard OR skids are flimsy aluminum. The TRD Pro skids are steel. Mines a ‘15 Pro so I would hope they didn’t start making them aluminum in the new gens (‘19+)

The standard skids are "Steel" now, and the TRD Pro gets a thicker aluminum now, I'm 99% sure.

Nah, not corrected. You were speaking from personal experience. No reason for you to think they've changed it. Either way, it's a stout set up and looks nice.

yes! Kinda lol I can’t tell from this angle but is the skid plate (front flat part) before it bends align with the back of the tow hooks? I found a picture to show you what I’m talking about with my front bumper skid.

I have the TRD pro skid on my 2020. Love it and it's 1/4" aluminum which is strong enough to stand up to most things you'll encounter unless you're doing some serious rock crawling. Id go for aluminum as you won't have to worry about it rusting on you. Makes changing the oil a lot easier for sure. Got it powder coated before putting it on and got some tufskinz inserts for the letters.

Thanks. Yeah the guy did a great job on it and only charged me $50 for the powder coat. It definitely looks better as black on the MGM truck and the letters really pop with the red trd sway bar.

How did you get the TRD lettering from Tufskinz? I don’t see that anywhere on their site. Is it the same size as the bed side lettering on the pro?

So they just started putting the TRD stamped lettering on the tundra pro plates again for th past I think 2 years. Tufskinz didn't know this. So I asked them and someone got in contact with me and sent me the 4runner and Tacoma letters to be a guinea pig for them. Well it turns out that the Tacoma ones fit perfectly. And tufskinz was nice enough to let me keep them free of charge. They said they were going to update their site, but I guess they haven't. It's been nearly 3 months so idk if they will or not lol. But the ones that are on mine are the Tacoma version.

Looks good. Think I'll order one as well. Can one person install or does it require a second set of hands?

You totally should! 2 people or 1 and some kind of jack stand to help you level it out and adjust it. Once you pull out the “stock” skid plate... you’ll kick yourself for not replacing it earlier. Stock one.. is paper thin.

I did it myself, but it was a pita honestly. It would have been so much easier with another person, or if you use a jack to raise it into place. I just have ramps so I had to lift it up with one hand and balance it so I could start threading the bolts. I picked a cold/snowy day to put it on too because I'm so damn impatient lol. But yes, you can do it yourself.
