First off, thanks to everyone on this site, the information provided is always helpful and interesting. With that said, after months of debating between Ford, Ram and Tundra, I am looking at finally getting into a Tundra. I would like to TRD PRO if I could but love the cement color so have been looking at Limited’s w/ TRD Off Road. However I just came across a 2017 PRO with 19k miles on it and I kind of want it.

My question is, if I go with the PRO, are they good daily drivers? And are the older PRO’s as nice as the newer ones or should I sacrifice the color and maybe get a 2019/20 PRO with the new shocks?

Thanks all and can’t wait to share pictures of whatever I decide to get in to.

I like the new fox suspension better. But both should ride great either way. Both suspension setups are tuned for the tundra. Can’t go wrong either way. Pro has the best suspension out of all the models. Daily driving or off-roading will handle great.

Thanks for the feedback and nice work on your ride, looks great. After looking at what you’ve done, now I’m back to thinking just get a limited and put the money in the mods so I can a make it my own...haha.

It all can be done just takes money and time. I wanted a pro but couldn’t justify the bigger payment. I saved more money doing it myself making it my own and In my eyes better. Only thing I really really regret is getting black. But super hard to resist when you see a blacked out pro on the showroom floor.

I’d rather have a 20 limited in the right color than a 17 pro. As I was writing that I started to question myself. Guess I’m no help. To your specific questions, they’re great daily drivers. The 20s added some nice features, some that I didn’t care about until I got used to them. Watche some of tundradude34 latest videos on YouTube. He just traded a built 17 platinum on a 20 pro and gives his opinions.

Do you plan to take it off-road? Match the truck to your intentions. FOX suspension would be great if your going to off-road race. If you do more street driving, the four wheel drive and TRD Sport package with Bilstein shocks may make more sense.

I do not plan on taking it off road, will mostly be on pavement with occasional gravel or dirt when I go fishing. I like the Sport package but one thing I really like to have is a sunroof and I don’t think the SR5 comes with that, right? I prefer leather seats since I have kids and they will smash food in cloth, but I would be ok with cloth seats.

Outside of a sunroof, I don’t have many “must haves”, just want a safe, reliable truck that will last many years ahead. If I can get a sunroof on the SR5 then I would be all for it.

We are all different. I did not want a sunroof and leather was not a must have. So I went with the SR5. If I can recommend you go to Edmunds. There you can see the different models and get pricing on the options.
    This may also help: https://www.toyota.com/tundra/features/packages/8261/8272/8275

That site mentions leather seats are part on an option package for the SR5

Moon roof seamed to be available only on the Limited and Platinum.

But if your not off-roading, why spend money on a PRO? That is what the PRO was built for. Just get a 4WD model and you should be good to go fishing. Plus you will be very comfortable in those models with the nice stereo and other features. Build the truck for how you want it and keep in mind the way you will use it. My 2 cents for the day.

i think one benefit of the pro is the resale value later on.

You question was is "are they good daily drivers?" If you found one you can drive it and see. You will probably find the ride fine.

Dude pull the trigger. Pro a great daily driver, I did it for years. So it doesn't have the amenities of the limited but it's a Pro. Unique looking and the suspension is awesome! I hear Fox suspensions a bit better but who cares bilstein suspension rides great. If you want a Pro buy a Pro. You won't look back, I didn't.
