I live in NYC and can tell you first hand there is plenty of spots to camp in the streets now. You can probably pop up your tent on broadway and not be disturbed.

I was seriously considering it. The state and county parks are still open here (Nebraska) and the parks staff are still cleaning the common bathrooms, but I don't know that I'd want to go with even a passing chance of spreading or catching this. As much as i want to get out of town, I don't want to contribute to overloading a hospital.

If you can get to BLM or other very remote spots, you're lucky!

Closed over here. Only way to camp is out of state, or owning your own private property somewhere. Still a little cold over here though.

here in AZ, we are heading south to the desert and will be camping all weekend this weekend. Hope to get away and not see anyone close. If we do see people, we will just find another place on the national forest. Great thing about AZ is tons of public land.

The only place I would go now is my family's lake lot. But with no power or water out there, a road that's inaccessible in the winter even with 4x4 and a need to go to a grocery store to stock up on food you can cook on a bbq or fire before going, that's not happening for at least a couple months.

Update. Camping went very well. Others that where there also understood how important it is for us all to not socialize. The only people I was around the hole time was my family we went hiking both days. It was alot of fun just to get out of the house. My boy hiking with us ! 20200327_150602.jpg

It's all total BS!!!! I go camping or up to the mountains about twice a month sence February just to get the wife and kids out of the house. We always go off grid anyways but we are Americans for God's sake our government shouldn't be telling us what too do anyways!! I get social distancing a bit but closing everything is total BS.

    Last weekend, weather was perfect.

Our health minister says we're welcome to go to our summer properties, private campgrounds, etc. as long as we're not flooding the small towns and potentially bringing the virus to those places or buying up all their supplies. So my family will be heading out to our lake lot once it's warm enough overnight to camp out there.

Colorado opened up their state parks. Reservations required. I'm going down to my off grid piece of paradise next Friday morning for 4 days. Only 3 Covid cases reported going on 7 weeks in Costilla County.
