Eating lunch now, but right before lunch, I was officially notified that I was essential personnel. (Dept. of Army sysadmin) I'll still likely be teleworking, with the caveat that if I do need to get on post to fix a server/transport equipment/etc., I'll be able to.

I don't understand this one, how is the liquor store essential? Its the same way here, and the only thing I can think of is since the state owns them that its about money.

But good for your buddy that he's able to stay open and make a killing.

I work in the HVAC Construction Industry. I do CAD from home regardless so not much has changed in my life other than going to the grocery store less often. We have some airport projects which are taking advantage of slow travel.

As @T-Rex266 stated, it is to prevent people from going into withdrawls that can be deadly. Virus is causing infux of patients already over loading the healthcare system, we dont need to add to it.

Manager at Costco is SoCal. Don't ask about toilet paper, paper towels, baby wipes, disinfecting wipes, blah, blah, blah. I cant tell you when they are coming in because it changes constantly.

Seriously though my wife and kids are home and I have a pretty regimented routine when I get home. All clothes come off in the garage, gloves on to come in the house, and straight to the shower. Then I can enjoy the short time with them until I go back and do it all over again.

It's been pretty crazy but luckily most members are very polite and understanding except the old lady in the handicapped cart that told me to go fuck myself after I had to take the toilet paper away from her that she stole from another members cart.

Still smiling though and making the best of every day.

I am considered essential, my company owns Data Centers around the world, as well as a large Telecom infrastructure. However, the closest data center to me is 700 miles away, so I usually work from home anyway. I got one of the "Essential Employee" letters and doubt I will ever have to use it since my company also cancelled all travel indefinitely. I am still working 40 hours a week helping our customers setup remote access for their employees, among other projects.

City and County didn’t count medical dispensaries and liquor stores as essential. This was changed in less than an hour lol.

FAA flight data, title is deceiving, as long as planes fly somewhere and airports are open in my general area and some foreign airports as well, I'll be here... additional super secret squirrel duties are required... Did get a DOJ letter referencing movement.

I got a essential personnel badge from my employer. I work at the Spallation Neutron Source at the Oak Ridge Natinal Lab. The scientist at the SNS should start studying the virus soon. ORNL is also the home of the IBM super computer running simulations on the virus that Mr Trump was talking about.

Aviation Maintenance....Essential for now but fading way to quickly! Obviously the flying public will return and all these babies sitting on the deck will again take flight. IMO this is worse than 9/11 and happened so FN fast.
