Just found this thread. I must agree I love my Sunset Bronze Tundra! Just got new wheels and tires put on today! Had the steel wheels on before that and the difference between them is night and day!5BBBB3BF-8E7D-4BCB-BC3C-8845D0A16CC7.jpg8223A090-0C8F-4DE1-B3CB-F9D03BC6B223.jpg8A8FFBB9-758B-4788-A771-8CD4F8E75AC1.jpg

Part_time. It was a long time coming. So many wheel choices, it was making me crazy trying to decide, but I had a look in mind and glad I pulled the trigger on these wheels.

285/70R17 nice. Do you have stock suspension, did you have to trim any?

Yes stock suspension. Had to remove the mud flap and front air dam.

Picking up a 2014 Sunset Bronze mica 1794 in Florida tomorrow and driving it back to Colorado.

first order of business is to remove the chrome bukkake that is the front end.

What are my best and cheapest options?

I want 4u3 bulge + surround, and decide on a black tTRD pro grill or black SR5 grill.

Did you have color matched bumper ends before you swapped out for this bumper?

No, it had chrome bumper ends and a grey middle section. Only the platinums have color matched bumpers in our color

Oh yes I am very aware of this ridiculous fact! Hah

Figured I’d ask just in the 0.01% chance you had color matched yours.

Alright fellow 4U3’ers.. it’s officially bugging me that the rear bumper is color matched and the front is chrome.
(I feel like it wouldn’t bother me at all if my rear bumper was the chrome one)

I am already set on keeping my grill and bludge chrome with the pro insert.

I’m torn between two options. Finding a shop to strip the chrome end caps and paint them to match. (Will need to get a second set, as I wouldn’t be able to leave my truck for the few days of disassemble etc)

Or going with blacking out all four bumper corners with oem unpainted replacement parts or maybe bumpershellz.

Any other input or photos of your front ends would be appreciated.

    Hi All,
Glad I found this thread, I'm planning a suspension upgrade and seeing lifts on similar trucks really helps. I'm between the 6" Pro Comp stage 2 and the OME 3" at this point with 35s. I tow a fair amount, as you'll see from my pics. This color is really great, didn't originally seek it out, but it has grown on me.

Winter camping, getting ready to roll out of Ouray, CO. Hard to see, but tires upgraded to BFG.

Fall camping trip, morning on Jackson Lake in CO. With the RAS installed.

Finally a little more winter camping in the desert outside Moab. I think I need to wash her more often.

I finally have my Tundra! And while this was not my first color choice, I was attracted to it, and now I’m very happy with it.
I do want to get rid of all the chrome on the front. Until I can afford paint matching and a new grill, I am tempted to plasti dip the front chrome. Has anyone here done that on a truck that isn’t black or white?72752530-EC2E-4E89-BA2E-D8545F9A63A1.jpg72752530-EC2E-4E89-BA2E-D8545F9A63A1.jpg2FFA5211-304F-4FAC-8209-629F2D48D818.jpg

Re-reading what I typed last night I realize it may not have been super clear what I was thinking of.

eventually I’d like to get color matched and a replacement grill, but until I can justify that expense I was thinking about doing black plasti-dip on all the chrome in front. I’ve seen a couple of pics with that done on black trucks and white trucks, but haven’t on a colored truck. Would love to see if any of you guys have done that on a bronze mica, or have seen pics on another color to get an idea how it would look.

    Thanks!

found a pic of something I tried a couple years ago, was not a fan because the chrome came shining through every tiny nick or scratch made the chrome shine.
