Well, you only have two seasons out in MB: Blizzard and Mosquitoes.

That's why we usually head to ON for camping season. The mosquitos seem to stop at the border.

lol. Well thunder bay area is not much better. But I've never seen mosquitoes worse than just north of Winnipeg. Ever. Not in Ontario's cottage country, not up in the Lake Superior area, not in AB or BC mountains, not ever. Nasty things the size of small airplanes.

    Really?

Small business and non essential services are forced to close during the Pandemic, but they leave liquor stores open for all the drunks to spread it.

Alcohol and tobacco are a choice not a right. When did Alcohol become an essential service?

Provided we are allowed outside next week, the temps here in WPG are doing to be +7-10. Time to get the lawn ready and head out for some bike rides. I normally put on 2-3000km during the summer, commuting to work cycling. I think I'll be doing a lot more non commuting riding this year if this thing continues .

And it's snowing even more today than yesterday! No mosquitos yet though.

They can’t close the LCBO or stop the sale of cigarettes they’d lose too much tax revenue .

We got snow the last couple mornings but the sun was hot enough to melt it off the driveway before I could take a break from work to shovel.

I think the liquor question is because the alcoholics would all end up in emerg when withdrawal kicks in and overwhelm the er when it's already stressed (not to mention potentially flipping out.) You can say "eff them, they did it to themselves" but that doesn't solve the er problem. I feel sorry for the employees. Homeless/Alcoholics aren't the healthiest lot...

Gas was 59.9 at Costco today and only a couple cars waiting.

The lineup for Costco on the other hand....out the door and down the side of the building.

Was just out driving around, looking at all the empty malls, Ikea etc. It was eerie.

    Except the gas bar.

The only problem is I don't have a Costco card and I don't know who they get their gas from.

I have never filled up there as the 3-4 cents on 100litres isn't worth the 20 minute normal lines

I can pull up to my local Co-Op and pick any pump and fill it myself without a single car in line.

It also appears Costco online now sells some non perishables items, food, toiletries, snacks, online with 2 day delivery. Free deliver on $75+ or $3 if under. They always had it in some areas but not MB until now

Last year I had a discount though work for 5 cents per litre off for 2000 litres, good for 365 days from when they issued it in September 2018. This year we got 10 cents off but only for 5000 litres and only until the end of March because they're supposed to be bringing back this Mastercard we used to get that included gas discounts.

They use Top Tier gasoline. Same stuff as Shell.

95% of my fill ups are at Costco. They average 10 cents per liter less than anyone else in town and the line ups on a weekend morning before 10am are zero.

Company lost the work we had slated for May. Apparently the client's bank in Europe is shut down due to this virus bullshit so they can't fund the project.

I'm completely out of work in a couple weeks

Wife and I were thinking about going for a drive tomorrow just to get out of the house for a while since gas is so cheap. But we're not really sure where to go. Nothing too scenic around here.

    Brutal. Sorry man!

My Dad got laid off from his construction supervisor position last week. Said the last few weeks had been a bloodbath of clients canceling.

Yeah, thinking about that too but didn't really want to drive 8 hours only to eat lunch in the car on the side of the road somewhere.
