BMI is a worthless metric. it does not take into account body type, muscle mass, bone density, or age. it is just a position on an arbitrary scale.

for example, take Dwayne Johnson. he is 6'5" and 260lbs. his BMI is 31 which, on that scale, is obese.

I have had doctors that insist that I should weigh 160 pounds because that's a "healthy" weight on the BMI scale. I did a hydrostatic body analysis recently and I have 180 pounds of lean body mass. if I were to get down to 160, I would look gaunt.

BMI pisses me off.
