What's up everyone, I am wondering if any of you have installed a light bar behind the hood scoop? Please post which light bar you chose, and what problems did you run into installing it.

You mean the good scoop or the bulge? I don't think many people even have the hood scoop.

Yes the hood scoop the small slit on the front of the hood. It is not a functional hood scoop it is just for looks.

All 3rd gens have the hood skewp. @sdhq_offroad sells the bracket hardware to install a single row led bar.

Does anyone know if there is a group buy for this? Or if we could possibly get one started? $1000 is a lot for a light bar even if it is made to fit. Also does anyone know that this will fit the 2017s?

Cool but pricey. There's nothing different on the 2017 from the 2014 - 2016 so this would fit

No way in hell am I paying 1K for a single row light bar, I don't care where in the hell it goes and what type of cool flashy capabilities it has.

For that much money, I'd rather just buy the Baja designs one and probably get better lense quality.

Or you could go on ebay and buy 10 light bars, sell them at $150 a piece and start a damn organization and be a contrillionaire.

Agreed. I have a $130 light bar from Amazon and even if I have to replace it every year for the next 7 years I still come out on top

Yes it is just a decorative strip not a light bar.

That being said, has anyone bought an light bar that came with everything? Including a switch that fits into the pre-existing switch spots that just need punch out on the dash.

Amazon sells a bunch of light bars that come with everything. But if not Mictuning sells the relay, in-line fuse, wires, switch etc that you can use for like 8 bucks.

If you want a switch that works with the tundra dash you will need to purchase that separately. They are also on Amazon, just search for "toyota small switch". Heres a link to one

CH4x4 Toyota Small Push Switch Auxiliary Lights Symbol - White LED https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YFG6ABI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_FbqIybJPBQ4AV

You can get these in different styles and colors. I have two from the same company in the link above:

The made to fit light bar is pricey.
It does not seem like it should hold that much value.
