Yeah, gonna be a while. 12-18 month estimate is based, as I understand it, on the anticipated time to develop, test, and administer a vaccine. I hope unemployment benefits will extend to self-employed owners of businesses so those can make it through along with employees.

I already know of local businesses I’ve used for decades that are hurting: my seen-once-every-week-for-21 years-chiropractor; mechanic of 30+ years; my kid’s barber; favourite local family restaurants....

Is that off Lake St? My go to close to home is near Diamond Valley Lake and the golf course.
I might do a drive to see the Integratron and Big Rock in Lucerne. I saw an Ancient Aliens show on them recently and the two areas are about a mile apart.

Are you saying you’re delivering packages? Thank you! I am thinking it’s good for delivery people that most interactions are short term and outdoors, now that fewer offices are open. And I like the driving around with the doors open, for access to fresh air. Stay safe!

On the truck side of life, @nishibot and @Mrs. Nishibot and I went out yesterday looking for toilet paper. We checked a few stores in the Hemet and Idyllwild areas. Found no shortages of water or potatoes, but no soft paper good and limits on canned food. And few public bathrooms. :eek2:

We took a dirt route between these locales, to maintain social distancing , and observed the following, which improved our mental health and general readiness for whatever comes next:
    25C2746E-70D1-436A-BE4A-5B10923560D9.jpg
First we checked out a private road that was a fire and power easement, as well as access for numerous private properties. The views were good, but there was no challenge to it... and we didn’t find a t.p. vendor,

... so we headed to a “real” trail
    9EA83CD6-CCA6-4411-9C00-C5832D2F6AAB.jpg

    ...but found it closed. :(
    25870CC2-64E2-4705-A9D9-4C30BC8E050E.jpg

Very disappointed, we went to forage in Idyllwild. Found the forestry office closed except by appointment, but were able to order pizza by phone, then send one person at a time inside to p/u. Only 2 employees working, hand sanitizer for use after transaction complete. Businesses and patrons working together to follow guidelines and keep businesses afloat. ALSO temporary changes in law allow restaurants to sell alcohol for takeaway, so we were able to incorporate our customary social lunch at Idyllwild Pizza Co. outside in the parking lot.89D9F7F1-EEB1-45CA-AD02-BA5B6DF0E49B.jpg

Afterward, we made our way back to take Little Thomas Rd... (more soon)

... Little Thomas Road, “backward” from near Lake Hemet back toward the 74:

... except, instead of going all the way down on Thomas Rd., we checked out Rouse Hill Truck Trail....

Rouse Hill Truck Trail was a lot of fun! First of all, Hulk made better use of mud puddles than Steve’s truck did. I failed to anticipate how this would diminish my view out of the side windows:533D3EC9-45C2-414E-B607-C707851485D7.jpg

But some views were so incredible, I had to stop and check it out:

    1DBF06E9-41B0-4DE1-A2E1-7CFE39A22636.jpg

Back to civilization and realized what a mess Hulk was :D:
    8D550E40-784A-4737-A3F7-4EDF10094721.jpg

Plus it started raining so, rather than make the drive home with mud pouring down the windows, Steve invited us to swing by his driveway, where he gave Hulk a quick shower (his first ever, I think). And Kim, having caught on to how “t.p. insecure” I am :anonymous:, gifted me with 3 rolls. So the underground trades and friends sharing has begun in SoCal...

    CC40285A-8A69-4AA5-9EF8-0B1BAE340330.jpg

Thanks @nishibots for a great day out! I anticipate we SoCal Shenanigans can find ways to get out in small groups and stay connected and healthy!

Yes, thanks you your guidance! My usually grumpy neighbor has been kind in overseeing my efforts. I masked and gloved up and together we melted solder to add circle connectors, connected at battery and Switch Pro. Everything works!

Still waiting for the air hose assembly and will attach a 90° connector to remain attached to the compressor. But it’s close to ready. I’m excited ‘cause once this is finalized, I’ll be able to easily pressurize my on-board water, so hot showers won’t require a bicycle pump. :)

Both my sons work for Vons. They're on the front lines of this. Every time that they go to work I'm so worried. They both received paperwork allowing them to drive to work in case they get pulled over. You'd think being so exposed to the public that their employer would be providing masks, gloves, and sanitizer. You'd be wrong. We haven't been able to buy masks or sanitizer. Nearing the end of our glove supply. If anyone has some masks to spare I'd be extremely appreciative. Just praying this comes to an end soon so we can get back to our regularly scheduled shenanigans! Thanks.

    For nothing. Sorry I asked.

Thanks Marty! :fistbump: I hope you do too! I really appreciate your offer but I don't want to take your last two masks. I've been under lockdown since my blood type is A+ and we're supposedly more susceptible to the covid. My older son is also A. Younger son is O+ which is most resistant. Stay safe everyone.
