I work at a hospital. I'm not going anywhere. I'm a software analyst but they want everyone on deck to put us in insufficient masks with 30 seconds training to do front-door screening. In the mean time I get to write queries to pull lab data. Fun times.

My work is fairly isolated from the public, so we’ve been business as usual. Tho I’m sure all the shutdowns and cancellations will be felt in a few months.

Almost eerie driving into work the last few days. Next to no traffic and empty city buses. Hopefully this all helps kick this virus to the curb quickly.

We're also isolated from the public but I guess with somewhere around 1000 people on site every day, we count as our own large gathering.

The guy beside me in our office, came back to work from a 4week stay in the Philippines and was routed home through Korea, the day after the government recommended self quarantine.

I might be sitting besides our organizations Patient Zero. I notified my boss to contact HR and make sure he is cleared to be here. He's been off sick a few days since he came back and also stated being "dizzy" the first day back.

It's iffy as to our requirements to notify of travel but he is right on the bubble of all the dates we have been notified of for disclosure etc

Argh. So our family just went further into shutdown mode. Wifey is a first responder and some degenerate, pill popper may have exposed her, her partner, several line mates and EMS to COVID19. 48 hours for test results from the degen to come back, then we will know our go forward plan.

Ah shity deal! I’ll be thinking of y’all. My fam and I are in 2 week quarantine for precautionary measures. Wife and both kids have flu’s. Most likely generic ones, but we get to stay here regardless. Anyway lot more time for thinking now, so I’ll be thinking of y’all.

I got sent home from work today. Police are shutting down all public walk ins and limiting how many civilians are needed as support staff.

I'll be on standby, so will have to go in if needed and called.

@Wrongside bummer. I can't stand hearing stories like that. Hoping for good news for everyone involved.

Yeah. Thanks man. Super frustrating- she lied to start with, then changed her story after being in contact with multiple emergency services personnel. Probably be no repercussions on her either. Hopefully it turns out to be nothing.

Hope your family gets feeling better soon! (Is it weird I caught myself almost saying, “I hope your family has the flu.”?) ;) Looking like I’ll have to stay home tomorrow- you and yours will be in my thoughts as well Buds. :)

    Thanks, Bruce. Here’s hoping. :)

Same to you and yours. I see they announced a few more cases in MB today. My wife and kids were supposed to be leaving for MB tomorrow. March Break with her family, but that’s all been put on hold.

WCS down to $8/bbl. If this keeps up, a barrel of crude will be worth less than a litre of gas...

MB just declared a state of emergency, in effect for at least 30 days and a 50 person max gathering.

It was just a matter of time.

Wpg is doing it's part to remain Slurpee Champion of the World. The attended had all the cups and straws behind the counter and is wearing a mask and gloves to hand them out.

$1 large Slurpees all week. I'm guessing because no one is leaving their houses and they are trying to get customers in for anything.

How’s everyone doing as we head into another week of uncertainty? Unbelievable how low oil has sunk and how cheap gas is around here.

We got word last night that we are out of the woods this time. So that’s a bright spot.

I don't even know what gas is at right now here. Last I saw it was 79.9 at the Co-Op. I pretty much drive from home to the dog park and back.

Other then that, doing well. I'm home with the kids but could get called back to work at any time, so we can't venture too far, even if we wanted.

Cleaning the house, keeping the kids in check, watching movies, listening to records, making the suppers and cleaning the house.

I'm not driving much so am not using much. If it continues, I'll have to go for a few rips.

Ya I think we will be heading to the mountains for a nice family hike soon. Break up this uncertainty and try to get more normal or as much as we can.

I saw 61.1 at the 7-11 by my place when I went to the carwash next door. Not that I'd ever fill up there.

Apparently everyone else had the same great idea and the folks who live in the mountains aren't exactly thrilled with thousands of tourists who are supposed to be socially distant flocking to their towns.

Ya no shit dont blame them. Idiots dont understand to stay the fuck home unless you are getting food. Do not go to the fucking park to let your kids play with every other kid so they can bring home what ever was all over the slides or monkey bars. Let them burn energy elsewhere.

That's because the majority of people are idiots.

Even people in the 40-60y bracket don't get it. My wife was at the store getting some meat, waiting 6' from the person grabbing some in front of her. Then some wanker brushes up against her to get some meat and cuts in front of her. She has to tell them "Excuse me!". I would have said more if I was there but that's not her style.

And I don't know if people just don't think they can get it outside, but you still have to give people some space during this time. My family will stick close together outside, but I don't want snot nose little Billy and Suzie in my face or their stupid parents if we are at the dog park or wherever.

I work in the woods, no people and life is great. Wife and kids are home and we don't go anywhere near people. State of emergency issued here in ns because hundreds of people were flocking to public parks/beaches, it's fucking -15 outside lol

    A bunch
Just got word my project is shutting down for the virus (fines for groups more than 50) so gonna be out of work for a while. Be nice to be at home - projects needed to be done include Tech12Volts sound system and basement finishing - but the uncertainty of getting back to work will be nerve wracking. At least I get one more week here before being sent home.

I don't blame the workers who don't want to sit in a box by the highway or in the parks office while hundreds of people drive past or file in, even if they do keep their distance.

Were still working. Just started a modern 2 floor cottage on the beach. Half of our crew were voluntarily laid off. Were treating it like each day is our last day on site, theres hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes for tools. Were considered essential but no one is certain what to do.

Covid has hit the Royal Family now.....

That's the biggest celeb or Media person I am aware of to get it. This thing doesn't discriminate and if anything seems to find carriers in world travellers and jet setters, which isn't surpising.
